With regard to upcoming release of Google Pixel (5") and Google Pixel XL (5.5") and assuming the "leaked" reports are somewhat accurate, would you have any issue with downsizing screen size, if you already had a 5.5" screen phone today?

I currently have an Apple iPhone 6 Plus. Today, I picked up the new Amazon Fire HD 8. I simply could not pass up on the price of $89 to browse the web, read books and watch TV/movies.

That said, I imagine the Fire will be what I primarily use while I am at home and perhaps, even away when back at the hotel. So could you and would you go back to a smaller phone screen as your primary source while on the "go?"

Granted, I realize this question is purely subjective ... just looking for opinions.

I can't stand the huge screen fad. I hope it dies.

I love the huge screens, but am a fan of options.

Not sure I can go back to the smaller screen

What, can't hold your purse and phone at the sametime?

I have a 6+ and will never go back to a smaller phone. This size is perfect.

i have gone back and forth. And i love it every time. I moved to the Note 2 when it came out and loved the big screen then went to a small nexus then to the nexus 6. Down sizing makes you more comfortable carrying it around and you realize how big your old phone was. After a while of looking at a small screen it was nice going back to a big screen. Im getting one of the pixels and leaning to the smaller one if the specs are the same.

I personally wouldn't like it. The interface on today's phones makes screen real estate valuable. For me, placing a bigger screen in a smaller footprint is a value proposition.

If you mainly plan on using your phone for texting and calling. Only the occasional web browsing, videos, ex. I think 5" is perfect size.

If you watch lots of videos, browse alot, read articles, etc you will regret not going with the 5.5"

The biggest issue I have right now with cell phones is I cannot downsize from my current Note4 screen size. Lots of other phones that look awesome, but I just cannot do it because of the fricking smaller screen.

You should get a non-explody note 7.

From what I have read, the only difference (all speculation, of course) is the battery's capacity size and screen size (and less resolution).

Quite amazing that .5" makes that much of a difference in a phone ... but it does.

Struggling with this same question as well. I think 5" would be better than the 5.5"--my OnePlus One is a 5.5--mostly so I can reach the whole screen without overly stretching my hands (plus the new fingerprint device on the rear of the phone would be more convenient for a 5" than a 5.5).

However, my only reserve is I thought the 5.5" is the only one that got the Snapdragon 821? And the 5" gets the 820

I have seen reports that the Pixel and Pixel XL will both have the 821 ... also have seen reports that both will only have the 820 as well ...

In other words, only thing that I am seeing different at this time are the screen size and battery.

However, if the XL came with the 821 and the Pixel only came with the 820, this would certainly impact my decision making process.

My G4 has a beautiful 5.5" screen which is about right for me.
