Lletget
Feilhaber
Nagbe
Zimmerman
Villafaña

The usual suspects did no harm to their stock.

I'm gonna add Dax to that list, but otherwise it's pretty comprehensive methinks.

He departed as quickly as he arrived.

Answer is Sebastian Lletget. He should be a member of all meaningful camps for the foreseeable future. He can play well as a left mid, a 10, and an 8 and with limited numbers, that kind of versatility has to be utilized.

Garza and Villafana make me not worried about moving Fab to the wing.

Thinking about it now, Bruce is going to have some tough XI decisions to make come March.

Assuming everyone is healthy, our best backline is Yedlin-Cameron-Brooks-Fab. I don't think there is anyway to argue against that.

Here's where things get interesting though, Villafana and Garza show promise and provide LB depth – something we haven't had ever it seems. Do we trust their performances enough to move them to LB, allowing for Fab to move to the wing?

Do we even need to risk moving Fabs off the backline if Lletget and Nagbe seem to be more than capable of providing quality on the left side?

As for the team's spine, safe to say Bradley is and will continue to be our 6 for this cycle, but after that, their are spots up for grabs, particularly at the 10 with Kljestan, Feilhaber and even Nagbe. Not to mention, Jermaine Jones is still international quality, but does that mean we rely on a 4-3-3 with Jones at the 8?

That would mean no second striker to pair with Jozy, who has said he likes playing with a someone to run off of his hold up play. If we go two strikers, Jozy and Wood are our two at the top.

I haven't even mentioned Pulisic yet, who is our best player at the moment. I think in terms of attacking player, Pulisic, Bradley, Jozy, Wood and Fabs (if he isn't at LB) are the only locks in the XI at this point. To sum up, it seems we have legitimate options and depth for the first time, and it should make things fun.

I will say that Villafana, Zimmerman, Lletget, and Nagbe increased their stock the most along with this guy wearing #18:

And of course this guy:

And not just because he looks like a short, stocky Conan O'Brien or a slightly more athletic Philip Seymour Hoffman.

----------- Jozy -------------

Nagbe ----- Lletget ---- Pulisic

------- Jones -- Bradley -------

Fabs -- Brooks -- Cameron -- Yedlin

All three of the advanced midfielders can play in the middle of on the left. I put Lletget there because he gives you more physical athleticism and potential to track back and play defense when Jermaine goes buckwild.

For the game where Jermaine is suspended, I'd even think about putting Lletget in the Jermaine role and putting either Kljestan or Benny at the 10.

If you go 4-4-2, I don't know if you can get Pulisic and Nagbe playing at the same time. I'd probably keep the 4-4-2 (the 4-1-3-2 we played last night is a 4-4-2) in my pocket, and at 60-70 minutes - depending on how the game is going and the need for a goal - pull off Nagbe for Wood and possibly Jozy for Morris a little later.

By just bringing in guys like Da Boy, Benny, and Kljestan, we now have options and we should be able to fluidly switch between a couple of formations depending on opponent and current gameflow.

Not sure Lletget has earned a start over Sacha in the 10 role...

Would like to see Nagbe as the 10 with Pulisic and Lletget or Fabian on the wings depending on what you do at LB. Jozy and Wood up top with Bradley deep

I think Nagbe is very good at moving around players but not so great with delivering a precision pass. His skillset is more that of a winger, imo. Leave Sacha or Benny to the 10 role.

I do hope we don't keep Wood on the bench. That would not be a good love imo.

In that lineup, is push Nagbe to bench. Fabian up into his spot. Slide Garza or Villafana into LB. put Sacha behind Jozy.

The real question is who do we value more at this point: Nagbe at LW or Villafana at LB? I think I still take Nagbe, which means Johnson slides to LB and Nagbe starts at LW. I like the formation we ran yesterday.

I just worry about the speed of the game with Sacha or Benny as the 10 against tougher competition. Either way it's nice we actually have these options now after calling in players with creative ability and playing them in attacking roles
