Where does the MLS fit?

I debated on how to start the subject but here it is what level would the MLS be if we put all the clubs in some other league somewhere? Would the MLS be as good as Mexico 1st division? English 2nd division? German 2nd etc?

it's very difficult to quantify. There's a huge disparity between the best and worst players in MLS. Much, much larger than any other league in the world.

First of all, it's not "The MLS". Just MLS.
Secondly, it's so hard to quantify these things. Let's just say it's the 2nd best league in North America and leave it there. It is likely a top 5 league in the Western Hemisphere, and a top 15 league worldwide.

Okay, I'll take a WAG which I admit is somewhat uneducated.
I would think, if MLS HAD to move tomorrow into the English league system:
It would be behind the PL and Championship, and become the new League One, moving the old Lg1 to Lg2, etc.

MLS just can't compete with the wages some of the Mexican clubs offer.

I wonder how much the perception of MLS is hurt due to crowd atmosphere. It's so much easier to watch a game on TV when the crowd seems interested
