Wait, Jed's lineup is wack.

Jones at CB would be disastrous. It took him what 10 games to figure out who goes forward/who stays back in the midfield with Bradley ?

Throw him in there on a backland with 3 inexperienced people. Yikes.

Cameron takes a seat and Gonzo plays. no need to divert from a "good" line up.

--------Altidore--------

--Dempsey-Bradley-Zusi--

-----Cameron-Jones-----

Fabian-Besler-Gonzalez-Evans

--------Howard---------

Dempsey has played there with Fulham. He will still venture inside, which is fine sometimes. Cameron has shown he can play DM n play it well. Fabian has shown he can play LB. Bradley can shoot from outside the box and pass the ball around better than most. Let's see what he can do in tighter space. Zusi can still work the wing n provide service through crosses.

I honestly would think this would be a homerun formation.

Fabian isn't playing LB for us. I know this board wants it, it's just not happening.

What are you guys predicting for the scoreline? I'd like to think we could really smash them, but I'm not expecting much more than 2-0 or 3-1 no matter how well we play because that's how concacaf works.

Sure isn't Beasley today. So, the only person with experience is Fabian. Castillo is pretty raw. The talent maybe there, but during a WCQ I'd go with Fab.

I agree completely.

Yesterday when we talked about this, Stewie brought up that we had a similar left side against Honduras last time and it didnt go so well.

I just think its miles better than playing Castillo there. Gives us our best players on the field and would be a big opportunity for Bradley.

honestly, if you'd asked me without posting your prediction. I probably would have said 2-0 or 3-1.

We should roll over this decimated version of Honduras

you lose a lot on defense playing Dempsey at LM. Fabian tracks back extremely well. He'll run up and down the entire left flank for 90 minutes.

Good point. I think the other midfielders could provide that defense, but it would take some time.
But until I see someone else that could play LB against WC-quality opponents, I just think Fabian should play there, no matter where he plays in Germany.

You'd still have a LDM and RDM and 4 defenders. It isn't a big deal. In that formation. IMO.

To Jurgen, it appears to be. You can tell he asks a lot of his outside mids, they need to be involved in all facets of the game. Zusi and Fab are probably the hardest working players on the field.

Let Dempsey do what he does best, link up with players, hang around the attacking third of the field, and score some goals. It just doesn't make sense to move him outside, IMO. Not trying to be difficult, as I think you're a great poster. We just fundamentally do not agree about this.

Also, I don't think you lose as much on defense by having a not-great LM as you do by having a bad LB.

Basically, when Donovan comes back into the squad, we're either going to have to leave off one of FJ, LD, GZ or move FJ to LB.

Reporting LIVE from Salt Lake:

It's going to be hotter here today than in Louisiana.

I'm thirsty.

It will be Zusi. LM is Fabs spot.
