So add 5 years to every players age...who realistically would still be on the roster?
Pulisic - will be 24
Arriola - will be 27
Acosta - will be 27
Wood - will be 29
Yedlin - will be 29
Brooks - will be 29
Anyone else?

Jonathan Gonzalez, Ethan Horvath, Weston McKinnie, Joshua Sargent, a whole bunch of people we don't even have on the radar yet

I think he's talking about people that are currently on the team.

Let's do the math.

Jozy will be 33 at the time of the next World Cup, assuming it's in November 2022, as planned. I can see him still being in the picture.

Bradley will be 35, so I doubt he makes it that far as a central midfielder. He'll stick around for a few more years, though.

Guzan will be 38. Maybe he can stay on for a bit longer as a veteran influence, but we really need to get a younger keeper ready to be the No.1 going forward.

Geoff Cameron will be 37. I'm fine with him sticking around for a few more years to mentor the kids, but no way he makes it to 2022 at that age.

Matt Besler and Omar Gonzalez will both be 35. I think we're better off taking our lumps and using the next few years to develop young depth at center back to find Brooks' partner for the future.

Nagbe will only be 32 and Villafana will be 33, so they can realistically make the 2022 team if they maintain their level. We'll see. No reason to kick either of them to the curb.

To the Future
These players will be the following ages in November 2022.

Ethan Horvath (GK- Brugge) 27
Zack Steffen (GK- Columbus) 27
Jesse Gonzalez (GK- Dallas) 27
Bill Hamid (GK - DC United) 32/33
Sean Johnson (GK- NYCFC) 33

Matt Miazga (CB- Vitesse) 27
CCV (CB- Sheffield) 24
John Brooks (CB- Wolfsburg) 29

Cristian Roldan (CM- Seattle) 27
Kelyn Rowe (MF -New England) 30/31
Jonathan Gonzalez (CM- Monterrey) 23/24
Weston McKennie (MF- Schalke) 24
Nick Taitague (MF- Schalke) 23
Tyler Adams (MF/RB- NY Red Bulls) 23
Haji Wright (FW-Sandhausen) 24
Josh Sargent (FW-Werder Bremen) 22
Andrew Carleton (FW- Atlanta United) 22

Somebody else can look up the rest, but that's a good start of what could make up our team going forward. I know Kelyn Rowe is a borderline selection, but I thought he did well in the Gold Cup, and should get another look.

GK - which one of those guys has the best chance to be on a Euro club team?

Erik Palmer-Brown could be a maybe. Believe he’s 20 right now, he’s on a pre-contract with City.

If I had to guess he’ll go to NAC Breda in January and probably again next year. After that he’ll probably go to Girona if they are still in La Liga.

Horvath already is and if he can stay on the pace that he is going, he'll be at a top 4 league by 2022.

Horvath already is, and I think he's most likely to emerge as the #1 keeper soon for the national team.

Steffen developed in Freiburg, but he didn't get consistent minutes there, but now he starts for Columbus.

Maybe Gonzales could earn a move. He's risen up quickly in the past year or so.

Bill Hamid and Sean Johnson have been linked with moves to Europe forever, but they seem to always get injured at the worst times, and nothing ever happens. I think they are both good enough, though. Johnson has been fantastic this season.

If Julian Green can resurrect his career from the dead, he will be 27 in Qatar. Gedion Zelalem would be 25, and Emerson Hyndman would be 26. Erik Palmer-Brown will be 25.

Have to hope that some of those guys emerge. Juventus wanted EBP back in 2014, and I worry that Sporting KC has severely blunted his potential development. Maybe he would have flopped in Europe at age 17, but he wasn't really given the chance. Hopefully this City move isn't too late. He's 20 now.

I'd be on the lookout for Luca de la Torre. Currently at Fulham. He'll be 24 next World Cup. Very very good.

Tyler Deric is another MLS goalkeeper having an outstanding season for the Houston Dynamo. He might warrant a national team look. He single-handedly preserved the shutout with some great saves against Sporting KC: Highlights

He's 29 now and will be 34 by the 2022 WC. He's been great this season.

City and their youth development gets a bad wrap because they don't move the kids into their own first team, but they do give them a chance to grow by loaning them out and developing them in-house. A good number of the kids have gone on to move to other teams and feature regularly.

I'd assume that's what will happen with EPB. Kind of similar to what happened with Yedlin at Spurs.

I think EPB is better than CCV right now.

Brady Scott is supposed to be a really good GK. If Köln keeps sucking arse ( ) he may get a shot sooner than later. He should be about 23 in 2022.

Marlon Fossey (24), Matthew Olosunde (24), or Sergino Dest (19/20) will probably be Yedlin's backup.

People are saying Danilo Acosta may be one of the few options at LB, unless anyone else steps up.

Gooch and Hyndman will be in their mid 20s.
