yeah i cant speak for every injury every other team has had, but the US has had some legit injuries this WC where the player stayed in. Our stats are skewed.

Regardless of "injuries", real or imagined. Sometimes you take a hard hit and get the wind knocked out of you and just need to gather yourself for a minute. You shouldn't be rolling around on the ground in agony, in this case to be clear. I mean, how the hell should that count as a "flop" just because they get back up after a few seconds and continue to play. Of course, it's BS and the author knows that.

ESPN doesn't control replays, it's all from the world feed. And the world feed is excellent at zooming in on attractive ladies.

That's a terribly subjective method of determining if teams are faking injury. Remember the guy (can't remember which team, maybe Colombia) that was actually unconscious for about thirty seconds, was attended to on the field, and then came back in almost immediately and played the rest of the game? By the criteria of that study, he was faking an injury solely because he didn't miss significant time. Same thing goes for Dempsey getting kicked in the face and breaking his nose, as already stated. Same thing also goes for the Ecuador player two days ago who was bleeding profusely from the head, was quickly bandaged, and continued to play.

EVERY time someone gets touched with close to enough force to put them on the ground, they writhe around like a little bitch.

Imagine if this were the case in football.... The games would last about a week and a half.

Imagine if football was a continuous sport, i wonder how many people would fake injuries...

Oh yea oregon tried this and they had to implement rules to slow them down. and football players fake injuries all the time against oregon

Atleast soccer players dont practice it

Since only Altidore has missed time, that means the time used to treat Jones after ref clash, Jones and Bedoya after their run-in, and Dempsey's nose all counts towards our 6+ minutes. That doesn't seem quite right for the intention of the data.

Also, Besler's hamstring against Portugal when he was down for about two minutes IIRC, but stayed in the game. That was a legit injury since he sat out the second half of the Ghana game six days earlier, but it's probably included in the chart since he didn't miss any time in the Portugal game.

The Argentine players are the toughest in the world. Their backs are hard as diamonds and their legs rise from the ground like the trunks of great oak trees.

this, pretty stupid chart since clint and jones both have broken noses.
