Are you under the impression that international organizations are somehow able to ignore the laws of the various countries in which they are active?

Well, FIFA was blocking European Clubs from playing league games in the USA. Why would FIFA allow this regardless of the SCOTUS ruling?

No, but they have a say where teams play that enter into contracts with them (the international governing body).

The Supreme Court holds no power over FIFA outside of the us, similar to any ruling that would take place against the UN or WHO.

Am I to assume that the Spanish Supercupa is considered a friendly since they're doing it in Saudi Arabia now?

The funny/sad part in all of this is USSF getting wrapped up in all of this, in a way that isn’t really their fault.

USSF and spending millions dealing with frivolous lawsuits, name a more iconic duo.

I assume this has a bit to do with college athletics and those recent court cases. Just like athletes have a right to get NIL, FIFA’s restrictions on certain matches are against US law which supersedes FIFA. Teams barred from playing are able to sue FIFA in US court for antitrust damages

I think this is the bigger issue than what impact this has on FIFA.

In my opinion the real impact is on the USSF's ability to act as the governing body in this country with regards to FIFA.
Not too dissimilar to the PGA & LIV situation.

It’s always been a “friendly“ as are the Community Shield and other similar matches. None of them count in the regular season league table.

In theory, the FA Cup final could be played anywhere for similar reasons. Hell, it’ll never happen, but could you imagine the Championship Final being played in America?

Wouldn't be as good of a crowd as Wembley

I thought he was talking about the FA Cup final. Either way, a final in American won't have nearly the same atmosphere as an FA Cup final in Wembley or a UCL final in Europe.

The stadiums would be packed, but it would be packed with a bunch of sidewalk fans are there more for the novelty and not for the clubs.
