It's been a nice change of pace to have USA World Cup matches back in our lives after 8 years, so I propose that we keep it going by... y'know... actually scoring goals.

I’m so fricking nervous

Need an early goal

It’s do or die, we played front foot courageous soccer eye to eye with fricking England

No reason our boys shouldn’t be flying out the gate tomm.

LETS frickING GO USA!

an early Wales goal against England would also help open up the incoming Iran bunker and hopefully help things flow better

but yeah... best bet is US scoring early to force Iran out of the defensive formation

Don’t know how much they can change that in the first half. Games are simultaneous. So the coach would have to relay that to the team while playing.

Iran media referred to their 2-1 win over us in 1998 as a win over "The Great Satan"

Never forget.

I mean... someone will be watching England/Wales on the Iran side

they will get word to the bench if Wales is ahead and Iran now needs a win to hedge their bets to advance

anyone know how Spanish referee Antonio Mateu Lahoz officiates his matches?

is he quick with cards or will he allow things to be physical?

ETA: he previously reffed the Senegal/Qatar group stage match

Saw a headline from SI that the Iranian player's have been notified that their families will be tortured.

Iran threatens to torture families

Honestly, I would rather Iran bunker the whole damn game. Bunkering for 90 minutes hardly ever works, and when it does work, it's usually because you have some great defensive players, which Iran does not have.

I mean shite, Iran tried bunkering against England, and a team that entered the World Cup with a worst scoring drought than us hung 6 on them. Give me the bunker.

I think it will take two to win. US 2-1. Someone is becoming a hero tomorrow. Hopefully no one becomes a martyr but with Iran you never know.

If our fans don’t get a quality “Sol-
Ei-Mani clap clap clap” chant going I will be disappointed.

Could be wrong about this but BOOHOO! The Middle East is historically riddled with death threatening their neighbors, and when someone changes their flag, they freak out, (which is their hypocritical nature anyway), and we get all up in arms that we might have caused more backlash?

They decry disrespect from the West, burn our flag and threaten to torture their players families. Changing the flag symbol is merely mild trash talking on our behalf (a lot less than their “death to the West” vitriol) before the game and I LOVE IT, whether it’s for a “cause” or not.

Come on boys! Take it to them, wrap ourselves in pigskin, and let’s go General Patton all over their aloha snackbar asses!!!!

I’ll be trying to take it all in knowing it could be the last USA WC match until 2026

Meh, not worried about Zimmerman's defense.

Worried about his distribution.

I watched the Wales match, so yea, I'm worried about him defending a very good striker 1v1
