Interesting. Never knew that. So what makes NBC's HD coverage of the prem so damn good?

And what why is UCL on Fox Sports so good but their USMNT and other games suck?

What has been impressive about him?

2 goals against a non-FIFA team?

What a stupid statement.

By that train of thought, what has been impressive about Agudelo?

He was impressive in both games so far. One of the few players that showed any offensive creativity. I'd wager that he helped create more chances than anyone. Probably would have scored last night if Morris gave him a decent pass on his run from the left.

Honestly man, your opinions on US national team strikers has been pretty garbage. You trashed Dempsey in 2015 and said he should never be called up again but he's still one of our most consistent goal scorers. You're putting Morris down without good reason and saying guys like Haji Wright, Boyd, Agudelo (lol) and Johannsson should be ahead of him. If you're going to pull these opinions out of your arse at least provide some reasoning as to why you think that's the case.

Morris came up big yesterday when other players did not. He's smart, athletic, has good off the ball movement, provides pace, and has solid finishing. How old is he? 22 or something? He should be part of our forward corps for the foreseeable future until a better option presents itself.

I didn't mention Boyd or AJ. Wright has looked good so far this preseason for Schalke. I don't see how anyone can think Morris has looked better than Agudelo.

And I still don't think Dempsey should be a starter for us.

I wasn't really being serious about Wright, but I can see him at least being as useful as Morris if he can get some minutes for Schalke.

You have said that you think Sargent is better now than Morris is, that's pretty out there considering one isn't even a full/fledged pro yet.

His goal scoring record for one

And I'm documented on here as not being a very big Morris fan.

I do think Sargent is a more complete striker than Morris. And he'll be a full fledged pro in Europe as soon as he turns 18 this fall.

If he signs in Europe, particularly Germany, he'll still be playing u-19 level... He still has a bit to go, he disappeared in the latter matches of the u20 World Cup as the opponents got better.

Morris is better than him right now, but Sargent has a much higher ceiling.

I think our midfield had more to do with that.

Sure, but Sargent also finally looked his age in those matches, he was getting knocked off the ball and hitting the ground a lot.

Morris

is still an extremely limited player. He is okay at what he does, and he can get away with it sometimes, but against good teams those 1 or 2 tricks wont work. Physically big and gifted, but still lacking technically and tactically.

There comes a day where you are no longer a physical beast, and you have to have something else to use.

I agree he is limited at the moment, however, I think a lot of people are underestimating his soccer IQ, both of the runs he made yesterday for his goals were very savvy.

Well for one Morris has done more for the national team and did much better last year in club play. Juan has his moments but if you're going to harp about players not reaching their potential or having a future with the national team, I would pick Agudelo over Morris.

Actually, they were pretty close to what they did for their club last year. Morris had 14 goals and 4 assists in 44 games. Agudelo had 9 goals and 4 assists in 27 games. And Morris was surrounded by more talent. This year isn't even a contest so far. Agudelo has 6 goals and 2 assists in 15 games. Morris has 2 goals and 1 assists in 16 games.

Agudelo missed 9 games with a knee injury last season.
