I put a lot of faith in star players and veterans that they will right the ship. I think too many people are too obsessed with young players over proven vets. Bradley's performance was bad, but it raises no flags.

Bradley played bad, but as others have said I still have faith in him to play well against teams that don't put all 11 men behind the ball.

Jones surprised me. He was solid in that holding role.

Gonzalez was better than I was expecting.

Mix and Johannsson hugging was a thing of beauty.

In the 4-4-2 diamond, is it any one player's job in particular to pick up the ball from the defenders and bring it upfield to the attack?

In the 4-4-2 essentially Bradley would be playing as a False CAM which I love but it requires communication with the other CDM to know when he is going to push the ball upfield. So offensively it would be more like the diamond but the problem we have is that our wingers are more like midfielders and they pinch in which doesn't give Bradley the space he needs to distribute

He was quietly very solid.

Just curious, will the #s worn last night be the same for the rest of the games this summer? Seems like that was the case in previous cycles, but would be good to know before I buy a new jersey.

Mix acted like the 10 shirt was still Donovan's in an interview after the game.

Considering that the cuts have been made, I would assume so.

Interesting. I didn't read that, but was considering getting a #10 jersey with Diskerud on the back. Hmmm.

Mix is going to wear 10 in Brazil unless Donovan comes back (which is a less than 1% chance).

He said after the game how he doesn't play for the number on name on the back but for the crest on the front. He then said that he is sure that he and Donovan will play together again in the future and when that happens, he will give 10 back to him.

Am I making this up or did he not used to have "Mix" on the back of his shirt

He wears Mix on the back for Rosenborg but has always had Diskerud on the back for the USMNT

His jersey at Rosenborg has "Mix" on it, or at least it used to. I don't think it's ever been anything other than "Diskerud" for the USMNT.

ETA: Broski beat me to it.
