Unexpected Trip to London (March 19th)

I'm now scheduled to travel to London the weekend of March 19th, and see that Chelsea has a game that day. Is it possible to buy tickets without being part of their fan club? I've googled it but have no idea what the "reputable" sites are.

Membership is the only way to go. Which should be at a discount this point of the season.

Unless I'm not doing the internet properly, it looks like you have to sign up to be a member before the season. Is it possible to scalp tickets outside the stadium or will I end up in London jail?

Well scalping or touting as its called here is very illegal. To the point people won't sell outside the stadium. Look on fb for any fan groups selling.

Yeah, I've seen fan groups help people out on Twitter before. If you tweet the people for the Chelsea fans' youtube channel, they could maybe help you out. I'd just explain the situation.

Check the Chelsea in America pages, they may have tickets.
Now onto scalping/touting, people will be trying to sell you tickets as soon as you come out of the gates at the Fulham Road tube stop. They will continue along Fulham road. I'm not sure how legit these tickets are or the prices but there is a possibility. I bought tickets off craigslist for the Chelsea-PSG CL match last year and had no issues.

I used Stub Hub for a Tottenham game at WHL in October and had no problems. They had a ticket collection site right outside of the stadium. Don't know if they're legit for Chelsea but I would imagine its the same.

Chelsea and many teams aren't on stubhub, Tottenham being an exception. The only official marketplace for Chelsea is members only.

Stub Hub only has an agreement with a few clubs. Anything outside that would be a hospitality ticket which isn't cheap.

Can't speak for other clubs but I know if you join Arsenal America you can buy tickets through them.

I did it outside Wembley for an FA Cup Semi Final in 2010 not really knowing what I was doing. Ended up getting in but it was an extremely shady process that I would highly advise putting yourself through.
