That sound you hear is Jurgen's head exploding.

This is actually pretty surprising, Bedoya has been very outspoken (on twitter at least) about his criticisms of the MLS.

Why? The only reason I can think of would be because MLS is overpaying USMNT players.

I just saw a site that has his salary at 350k quid a year ... seems pretty low. I'm sure he can make way more over in the states.

Salaries are lower in France. Still, I want him to stick it out there.

Yea but 350k quid a year is over half a million USD. If he is making over 500k in the MLS then he is a DP. Even then some DP's still dont make that much.

Not every league is paying like the EPL when youth team players are getting 30k quid a week.

I get that ... I just assumed the DPs were making $1,000,000+.

It's British and SCH slang for pound.

I don't find it surprising. Bedoya's bags were already packed for Philadelphia last year.

I love seeing Americans playing in Europe.

That being said, Bedoya is going to be 29 in a couple of months and has been toiling in Europe for the past seven years. Its not like he is going to develop more as a player at this point or be exposed to something he has not experienced yet.

So, with that in mind, I don't mind him going home to the US and playing in the MLS. It may actually be good for him; rejuvenate and refresh him perhaps.

BTW, someone mentioned his earnings. Supposedly the deal Philadelphia had worked out with him last year would pay him $1.1M a year. So an increase but a sensible one IMO; not crazy money, i.e., not Dempsey or Bradley money lol.

He would double his pay. He also has an infant son so I'm sure that plays into his decision.

I liked having more yanks abroad. In 2012 I traveled a bit and got to see Jozy, Clint, and Bradley play. I got to meet Bradley and he was super cool, but only got to chat for a hot second since it was really late and his wife and newborn baby were waiting for him. I also got to see Clint's last goal for Fulham (and his fiftieth in the prem). I traveled to Nijmegen to see Jozy play but some douche nozzle shoved him into a concrete barrier 30 minutes into the game and he went off injured.
