Where did the influx of cash come from?

it will be interesting to see how much he goes for. 12 mnths on his contract, and united is not a selling club unless they get a retarded bid. i don't think that they will give a shite if they have to sell him for a fraction of what he cost, but it's not as if his value should have diminished that much (obviously, age is a factor).

i wonder if contract length is a hang-up on the contract talks.

As for Roma all the rumors right now are much more speculation than usual since the new ownership group won't even be formally in charge of decisions for a few weeks and with them the expected arrival of Walter Sabatini and Franco Baldini.

With Sabatini coming from Palermo, the more prevalent rumors of a younger striker have been Abel Hernandez.


Who will manage us next season will be the first order of business though.

AS Roma should be making a lot of moves this summer since Di Benedetto has stated that there will be a more money available than probably ever before and we need serious upgrades at:

CB --(MEXES out to AC Milan) -- we need a quality young CB to rotate with JUAN and SCARFACE Burdisso--

GK -- (DONI will almost assuredly be sold) -- we need a real first team GK which may either be overpaying for BUFFON or hopefully bringing in a younger keeper, maybe even CERCI back from loan,

FB -- (RIISE and CASSETTI will both probably stay) -- but we need to get younger and faster here badly ---- ISLA????

MF -- (BRIGHI sold or maybe kept as a bit player) PIZARRO's back at full speed and playing well which means the deep midfield will still be him and DE ROSSI. But we have to get a younger dynamic playmaker that can play off Pizarro (best to be one that can also distribute from deeper when he rests) to link play to TOTTI and VUCINIC.
This is why the PASTORE rumors are so loud but I think it will end up being someone else.
The sad thing is that this is practically a new AQUILANI who only ever had to be sold because of the previous owners personal business debts.

FWRD/WNGR --(JEREMY MENEZ may be out, BORRIELLO possibly as well since he hasn't taken to being a backup that well) -- which would mean looking at 2 players here. One expensive and one may be bringing back a loan like OKAKA or a promotion from the Primavera side.
