According to a report from the Telegraph, Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino is set to promote four young players to his first-team next season, with the quartet set to feature regularly in cup competitions. View image | gettyimages.com The report states that goalkeeper Luke McGee, midfielders Josh Onomah and Harry Winks and defender Cameron Carter-Vickers are likely to be the group Tottenham hope follow the likes of Harry Kane and Nabil Bentaleb into the first-team. The Telegraph claims the four players will train regularly with the senior stars and take part in cup competitions.

He may only be 17, but Carter-Vickers is a wonderful talent and next season could be the one where he begins to show what he can do on a bigger stage having consistently impressed for the under-21s.

Good. Has he said that he's 100% committed to the USMNT?

I haven't seen where he said it, but he's playing for the US youth squads lately. I hope he does

He and John Brooks will be the wall of US soccer at CB.

Spurs could use some help at CB...and CCV could be a star. Hope his development will continue and we get him capped asap before england pulls their noses down.

CCV, Miazga, Brooks, EPB. For once I think our cb situation looks promising.

I mean from that penalty chance in the WC he needs to improve. I will always hold him accountable for that choke. Couldn't even put the ball on target.

He's a fricking center back.

I've watched Cristiano Ronaldo miss penalties that were off target. Your schtick is terrible.

Ronaldo also nets 50+ goals on average a season. He's allowed to miss one every once in awhile.

He's a professional soccer player. You should never miss the target completely on a PK. I bet Tebow doesn't miss a target the size of a net if its a WR on a 30 yd post route, and he fricking sucks.

I think you are overestimating Tebow's ability there

Abby Wambach did it last week and no one is crushing her over it. Also to be fair, its not like he stepped up to take one, he was like 9th to go. Which means he didn't want to take one before that, can't blame him.

By miss I mean have one saved. You should never miss the target completely. That was my fault for not re-reading before I clicked submit.

Wambach is also washed the frick up. She's good at one thing and that's scoring with her head. It's also women's soccer. I don't expect near as much out of them as I do a kid who is supposedly going to get first team minutes next year at a top 8 side in the BPL.

I'm not doubting the kid's skills. I'm just saying I will never like him after that choke, just like I will never respect Wondo after his miss. You're a professional, I don't expect anything less out of you especially on one of the larger stages possible. I guess it's better it happened there and not in an actual senior WC Finals.

please don't click soccer board ever again.

i'm willing to bet a good number of people that you root for and "like" have missed the frame on a penalty at some point in their career.

And likely in much less pressure-filled situations. Sudden-death PKs at a World Cup of any level will get your heart racing. Am I annoyed that he missed? Sure. Do I think he should have at least gotten it on target? Of course. But to hold it against him for his entire life for 1 PK is absurd.

McCraig or whatever has to be a troll. Either that or a "once every 4 years" fan who doesn't want to be a soccer fan but finds himself drawn to the sport. His inner conflict about the sport makes him say really stupid shite in hopes that eventually he'll overcome his enjoyment.
