One of the funniest dealings of the day. I had a comical, water spitting laugh when I read Zenit demanded that we pay for Witsel's release clause.

Best part is their window has closed and they have too many starting XI foreign players under Russia's new pre-WC guidelines.

Zenit is fine.

Lodygin, Smolnikov, Yusupov, Shatov, Dzyuba.

Russian rules dictate you have 5 Russians on the pitch at all times.

We do that.

The only problem is AVB.

Two foreigners on the bench though. Tactically, Zenit is in quite a tight spot. Especially if Putin and the Russian FA (not sure if this is actually a thing tbh) is firm on that rule carrying over to CL.

Do Zenit supporters not like him? I haven't been paying attention. I know he got off to a good start with them. Honeymoon over?

It's my favorite third kit color ever. Something about the shade of purple is just super appealing. Kind of similar reaction to that green shade on Arizona Iced Tea cans.

The colors just make you... I don't know want to look at it more or something.

I really need to pull the trigger soon here though. Free shipping to the states ends tomorrow (today).

Maybe I just won't go with a name. I find that the shirts "fit in" more without names and badges.

Zenit fans hate AVB. He plays boring football against lesser opponents. And this year, we're getting beat by teams like Krasnodar and Krylya at home. Zenit never loses at home. The goal is be better than CSKA, because it's basically a two team league. When AVB won the RFPL, CSKA had just sold Doumbia and Honda. So he barely beT them in a rebuilding phase. But no chance Zenit repeats this year. As soon as we fail in the CL he's gone.

I used to never get names and badges, but now that I'm at my new job and making more money than I rightly should be I'm basically just saying frick it. Hence, I've dropped over $400 on kits in a single month.

We have plenty of Russians on the bench.

Oh so you sold Rondon because his 20 goals at Zenit wasn't quite "up to standard" then, huh?

We sold Rondon because he was replaced by Dzyuba. Look up Artyom Dzyuba. He's better than Rondon.

Big thing that stands out:

Age: 27
National Team Appearances: 9 (since 2011)

I mean maybe you want a lanky Russian bastard to head in crosses at 6'4", but I can't believe the Rondon move didn't have some undertones of reshaping the club to be more "Russian".

After having a useless Paulinho white home shirt from a couple of years ago, I'm definitely weary.

The thing is beautiful. It just bothers me that it has a shite player on it, so I never wear it.

That calls for a tape job, try to turn it into someone else's name. Or just sharpie on duct tape across the name.

Yeah, a Dzyuba has limited Russian NT experience. But Kerzhakov is about to retire, so he will get more. The only striker ahead of him is Kokorin. Surely you've heard of him?

I don't mean to hijack your Spurs thread but don't lecture me on Zenit shite.

You're drunk if you think I'm lecturing you. Just making observations and relaying information I've read.

If you recall, I was the one who came into the transfer thread to specifically ask your opinion on a Zenit player, Axel. I don't see how I've pretended to know anything more about Zenit than you do.

Look at Rondon's record at Rubin (same league) even with shitty AVB, we made him better. That's my point.

I am drunk, but I always am. Not mad at you.

Haha hopefully on some good vodka?

And yeah Rondon's season last year is the only reason I know his name. Zenit have a very good team, but the situation with the Russian player guidelines is just shitty for everyone in the RFPL.

FWIW I'm a fan of watching Russian teams in the CL. Always entertaining.
