Show me a link of one tier one source reporting an even above average player being linked to Spurs this week.

Even in the past seasons, our signings have came relatively out of the blue, Sonny comes to mind.

That being said, I don't think a world class shoe in will be signed, but with this much time left in the window, and Poch saying we will sign 3-4 players, I don't think its fair to say we wont sign anyone that can bolster the squad.

Ross Barkley is practically one foot in the door already.

Barkley would be a good signing.

You guys don't 'need' a world class player. I just feel like depth is starting to be a real weakness.

I would like to see a future replacement for Dembele (I think he's about to be on the decline). And i'm not sure if Barkley is that guy.

i'm starting to genuinely worry if he'll ever play again.
That hip just keeps giving him problems.

At this point, I'll take it.

I agree. However, that being said, last year finishing 2nd despite playing a 1/3 of the season without Lamela and Rose; and Kane, Vertonghen and Alderweireld missing significant time also, shows that maybe we aren't as thin as we thought, our perhaps just punched above our weight consistently.

Either way, closing the gap between first XI and the bench needs to happen.

I think... could've been hologrammed into the team photo.

Maybe not....but if we have any aspirations of winning something, League Cup, FA Cup, PL, CL (I know, I know) then depth is sorely needed. I think most Spurs fans think this way. I don't think anyone is really looking for someone to rival or replace Kane, Eriksen or Dele...we just want some depth to keep these guys from getting drained or injured.

Wimmer is a perfect example of this IMO.

2-0 & 3 pts to kick things off today, and best of all, no injuries.

Eriksen picked up right where he left off, with a brilliant performance today.

Kane unlucky to not score but we all know he doesn't like to score in August or else the golden boot race would be a boring one.

I thought Kyle Walker-Peters debuted well today and Sissoko didn't suck.

For you guys who don't feel like dropping $50 on NBC Gold to watch today's game, it looks like r/soccerstreams on Reddit has a couple of good links to use for today.

That game sucked. We had plenty of chances to put it away but Heaton made some amazing saves
