You've never bothered to explain to us why youth development in this country won't change. This is why I think you are either misinformed or mistaken in your views. Under Klinsmann the US is in the process of making wholesale changes to how we develop youth players.

Do you not understand that the ceiling of our players is limited by their technical and tactical, not athletic deficiencies?

Do you not get what we are saying about people like Pirlo and Xavi? Who on that 2010 World Cup winning Spain team was a better athlete than Michael Bradley or Jozy Altidore? Are we all just talking to a wall?

You're not paying attention to what I'm saying...

Those players are not better athletes (probably, but I can't say for sure), but they will always be more skilled. Why? Because they dedicate their childhoods to being world class soccer players.

That's what I'm saying won't happen. That takes two-fold dedication: (1) Parents wanting it; (2) kids wanting it.

You may get one or the other in America, but given the other sports and the "jack of all trades" youth sports approach in this country, you won't get both.

Leads to my point...their equally athletic players will always be better than ours.

We still have one glaring problem. It is still pay to play for youth soccer. We are not talking rec league fees here. I was just floored on the costs for these youths to play. We are talking thousands of dollars to play per year. Talk about restricting your talent on that alone. Since when did soccer become a rich sport like golf?
