England fan fighting for his life and dozens more injured as English fans and Russian thugs clash at Euro 2016 in Marseille
quote:
The match itself, which ended in a 1-1 draw, provided a brief respite from the mayhem which had enveloped the city over the past few days.
But clashes resumed as the game entered its final stages. Fighting continued after the final whistle with Russian fans ripping down English flags and chasing their rivals across rows of seats.
quote:
The violence restarted after a green flare was set off at the Russian end in what appeared to be a coded signal for the ultras to set upon the English supporters again.
quote:
Hundreds scaled barriers to reach their prey. Some England fans fled for their own safety while others took up the gauntlet and fought back.
quote:
England supporters, including children appeared terrified at the ferocity of the attack.
quote:
In other clashes, an unidentified assailant smashed a chair over the head of a man on crutches.
quote:
They showed thugs, wearing black t-shirts, emblazoned with Locomotiv Moscow logo, beating up English fans who appeared to be trying to flee.
quote:
Other England fans complained of being hunted down by packs of marauding Russians.

Chat shite, get banged
But seriously, are we supposed to believe that the England fans didn't do anything here? IDK about the stuff in the stadium, but some of the action around the port seems propagated by the English.

The English that I know, and I count many as my friends, can be quite active. The press has reported some English transgressions but it is clear that they view the Russians as largely carrying out the violence.

The problem is the Russian fans in the stadium were attacking regular fans and families. The Russian ultras got their arse kicked outside the stadium by England fans who didn't go to the match. Then in return took it out on fans who don't fight.
There are estimates that 500k English fans are in France.

Agree, although they appeared to at least let people who were obviously not involved walk away

Plenty of videos on YouTube
The Russians are well organized and the English are a lost mob.

I don't care that much. I'm mostly just amazed that all of these assholes were able to enter the EU en masse
"What brings you here Vladimir War Crimes?" "The football." "Alright, enjoy your stay."

Because they've appeared to have a better handle on shite like this in the past. I would imagine that event-related travel is a good bit easier to police

Yea Eastern Europeans have flooded the west once the EU expansion.

I've seen atleast one instance of a Russian fan trying to kick a woman who was dipping under a barrier getting away
I've no issue with the fighting that happens outside the ground, the Russians are organised gangs and the English are pisssd who like to have a drink and a fight, there's a lot less chance of bystanders being mixed up in it
I do have an issue of in stadium fighting and also when you hear of local gangs trying to pick off fans who are walking around in 2s and 3s

What's pathetic is Marseille has all these anti aircraft batteries outside the stadium but very weak police presence inside it. Did someone tell these frogs that shite will get ugly between the two groups?

Can't imagine what would've happened if Russia lost
Posted on 6/12/16 at 9:44 am to John Keating
The Russian state media is blaming everything on the English.

Russia should be banned from all international sporting competitions.
Olympics, WC, everything.
Excessive doping, criminal fans, criminal politicians.

Says a Tennessee fan. One of the most corrupt schools in the NCAA.

Both teams are being told any more fan violence and they could be kicked out of the tournament.
