So Guzan is staying on the bench for the FA Cup final for Aston Villa?

Damn Sherwood, you hate America that much?

Given allows 6 to Southampton and I can't find anywhere that says Guzan is even close to being in the mix. I know most of you fricks don't care, but for your troubles I present: Nicklas Helenius, Villa's forgotten man with his pants down.

Did Guzan start all the FA cup games or was it Shay? I ask because I read an article about Guzan not long ago when he was the #2 behind Given, started all the cup games that season and was then heartbroken when he was benched for the final with his family in attendance.

Ive watched villa 5 or 6 times this year and Guzan was bad every match.

I DGAF about villa, but it's worrisome for the USMNT. We need an animal in goal to compensate for our difficencies elsewhere

Guzan was the number one keeper at the start of the competition and thus Given was given the reigns for the cup. But then Guzan started sucking and lost the number one job so now Given is starting in the cup and the league.

What happened to Guzan the last time villa were in the cup final was just tragic.

I'm wearing one of my Guzan jersey to Finns in protest.

That being said, Guzan hasn't been particularly sharp lately. In Tim I trust.

Yeah the League Cup Final. Martin O'Neill gave the start to Friedal. Most Villa fans were pissed about it because Guzan had looked great the whole competition. He was an absolute hero in the penalty shootout against Sunderland. MON deserves a lot of shite for what he did at Villa, even though that was the last time they were any good.

As was mentioned though, Guzan hadn't looked great the last few months. That awful pass against Man City was kind of the last straw. Considering the relegation battle, I don't blame Sherwood for the change.

Also, Given has been in goal for the Cups and this is likely his last hurrah. I trust him and Sherwood in a single match for silverware.

Ugh, no doubt.

Guzan is only 30 and will have his chance to regain his spot next season, which I think he will. I feel bad for the guy, but it is what it is.

Word I've been hearing is that Given may not be available this weekend. Supposedly has a bit of a groin issue. From experience, if you don't rest a groin injury, they will not go away.

So we may end up getting Guzan for the Final.
