didn't dispute that. You immediately went into defense mode when he asked a pretty basic question that I believe most here would take squad needs into consideration when answering

Saying they don't play the same position isn't going into defensive mode.

Ha.. I'd rather Alexis...

But I fully understand why you'd rather Neuer...

It was completely irrelevant to the question he asked

Thinking about it I'd rather De Gea. Just as good of a shot stopper, younger, and turns united into an 8-12 level side. Win win win

Its completely relevant

maybe I should have gone more in depth saying it depends on squad needs.

That's implied in the question isn't it? He asked who you would rather have not who you thought was better

I think playing with Vidal and Marchisio, who both work their arse off, masked some deficencies in Pogbas game. He looks like YaYa out there half the time to me

I was asking the question in a manner in which you could sign either one on a free. I wasn't comparing the two players at all. The OP is cut and dry for a straight answer.

If I got either Pogba or Alli... I'd play them both in one of the more advanced role of our mf 3... knowing they aren't like for like players...

Oh I know, it's a pretty basic question

That SCH hasn't answered yet

I understand that factors into the question. That's why I thought it was pretty basic to understand that was implied when I phrased it as who would you add to your squad.

They're both young midfielders, who are very good at an array of things. It's an honest and fair question meant to induce conversation on this particular message board.

For United's needs right now id take Alli.

Pogba wasn't a buy we needed to make. But in the longer run will pay off big time.

If you could manage United, where would you ideally play Pogba? As a 10?

A #6 for sure in a midfield 3.

him as one of the holding mids in a 4-2-3-1 isn't optimum bc hes defensive work rate. It could work in a pivot is he had a monster DM like Kante to pair up with.

Its frustrating bc once in a while he shows he can defend and make tackles.

as a #6

as a #10 he wouldn't be able to do as much and would rely on others to generate play for him. Thus taking him out of the game. For that to work he would need two monster mids playing behind him.

as #6 he has more of the field in front of him and can distribute much more effectively. His intermediate to long passing range is some of the best in the league already.

Yea, SCH's defensiveness in this thread makes the answer pretty obvious
