Proud to see an MLS team in the south. What I'm even more proud of is that that team has gone about building their fan base, brand, and on field product in the right way. They've got a solid owner, a soccer specific stadium on the way, an experienced manager, exciting young players, some USMNT presence, and also one of the best US youth players as a homegrown signing. They've unsurprisingly sold an absurd number of season tickets, so expect the gameday atmosphere to be rocking.

Atlanta will be holding the banner of soccer in the southern states, and as a proud soccer obsessed southerner myself I will be watching their games and rooting for them to be successful. At some point I'm sure I will try to see a game in person, but until then I will be supporting them from the comfort of my couch.

We'll see how long that soccer crazed fanhood lasts. If you don't win immediately they will fade. Philadelphia sold 18,000 season tickets their first year, they have not reached above 10,000 again until this year where we are around 11k.

Had not heard about additional plans beyond the Benz stadium. Where is the soccer specific stadium going to be located?

Maybe not a soccer specific stadium, but one that is well set up for soccer and a new stadium at that.

Yeah, supporting anything Atlanta feels dirty but New Orleans doesn't have an MLS team and I want to see the sport do well and grow in the south. Atlanta united being successful will only help with that goal.

Yeah, it is not a SSS.

With over 27k season tickets, they have a huge advantage on the rest of the league outside of Seattle. Will the numbers drop next year? Sure, but it will be a healthy fan base.

Last word is season tickets had hit 30K. That was where Eales said they may cap it, but no one has said anything at this point about it.

The soft cap of 30k is more there to increase demand and cause it will approach the total capacity of the first two levels not including x tickets held back for group tickets and single game tickets. If they can sell more season ticket packages, then they will.

I'll be going to ATL to watch the dynamo game but I don't think I'll drop Houston for ATL ever.

ORLANDO CITY TILL I DIE

Or until Don Garber announces Nashville as an expansion city. Whichever happens first.
