Chicago Fire spokesperson has confirmed to me the legality & possibility of short term loan of Sean Johnson to Montreal for CCL match.
Well this is most certainly interesting, don't know how this is legal tho.

Rumors that Chicago is asking the league for $75k in allocation money to do it
Nothing but fun can come out of this

Is the Impact's #1 GK hurt?
If not, I'm pissed if I'm him.

Suspended. Yellow cards I believe

Yeah, though they've appealed the card, so this would only happen if they are unsuccessful
The rest of their keepers are hurt, or some shite

MLS has to cheat to win this thing. Give your team a favorable schedule and work out a move like this. I don't blame them though, CCL refs will probably try to frick them over every chance they get. Probably legal through an Emergency Loan though if their GK situation really is that bad.

Shady behind-the-scenes moves? THIS IS PEAK MLS.

Pretty sure they're down to like their 4th string keeper

They're now on their 4th GK. It's a bad situation.

I expect some rule changes to be made for next season.

So let's say The Impact do win, would FIFA ban them from the Club World Cup for using a player that wasn't bought or loaned during a transfer window?

MLS transfer window ends sometime in early May

MLS owns all the contracts anyway.

From gymnastics to men's soccer... Impressive.

exactly the league does whatever the frick it wants
maybe this would let FIFA finally notice

From what I've read on /r/MLS, FIFA isn't particularly fond of emergency loans generally. Chivas G. also apparently did this w/Jesus Corona against Boca in 2005

Maybe I should go try out. I'm about 10 years past my peak, but sounds like I might have a shot. Always wanted to go to Montreal.

I suppose they could go get someone like a Marcus Hahnemann.
I have no idea if he is remotely in game shape since retiring over the winter, and he didn't look exceptional in a couple of appearances with the Sounders last season - but if you're turning over every stone...
I can't really think of any other unattached MLS keepers off the top of my head.
