Just awful. One of the worst misses no matter the circumstances I have seen.

I went back and watched it a few months ago. I didn't realize how bad it was. Jesus Christ.

He sucks

from the start I said he's not good enough for this level.

Some people on here defended his selection big time

One awful miss doesn't justify your opinion from day one.

He went on a tear during the Gold Cup and was the best poacher in MLS for a couple of seasons (part of the reason you railed on him).

When the USMNT had no one who was scoring regularly from striker, he did it. Granted, he fell off the face of the earth at the WC, but don't act like he was awful from the beginning.

Lots of people said it was bc the level of competition he went on that Gold Cup tear. It was a who's who of teams.

His very limited skill set gets exposed playing vs better teams.

Elite level poachers like Klose can do more than just poach.

He's nothing special, an MLS journeymen who should not have made the last 23 over LD or Boyd.

But you didn't just say he shouldn't be at the World Cup, which is fine. You bad-mouthed him throughout his run and made a big deal whenever he got picked for anything, even the Gold Cup.

The dude had two fricking options to get the ball in the net and he does that shite.

Exactly. Wondo's inclusion was hardly Klinsmann's worst roster decision of that WC.

Worst part: he did the same fricking thing in the Gold Cup v Panama and Jurgy still keeps picking him.

I honestly think I make a better attempt on goal in that situation. Not saying I score, but I don't fly it 30 ft over the net.

Wondo is a class guy, a great MLS player. I love the dude. Hated the miss, was super pissed at the time, but I still defend the pick. One of the best goal scorers in MLS with a knack for finishing. I'd bet on him every time to finish that. Sometimes the moment just eats you up.

Most people here would. It's kind of his thing, but it just really changed the potential outcome of our World Cup run. We have to hold players accountable, and poor Wondo is just one of the first ones to feel that starting to happen on a larger scale. He blew it, and there's nothing he can do now to change that.

Not me, as I remember him doing the same fricking thing in the Gold Cup. Some players are not cut out for the international game and Wondo is one of them.

I'm saying that I'd bet on most players at World Cup, especially strikers, to finish that. Everyone fricks up that sort of shot from time to time, but at that stage and the impact it'd have, you have to finish that. Muscle memory alone should have put a better shot on goal.

I hate wondolowski more than it's even possible. But but he scored a lot at the gold cup with all our shitty players. Oh you mean the tournament that Landon Donovan brutally raped?

frick you wondolowski. Nice guy by all accounts and I don't blame him as a person in any way but I have always hated him as a player and it's always been pretty clear to me what level he is suited for and it was pretty obviously never the knockout rounds of the fricking World Cup. frick.
