Not usually but this is what's happening to Leicester and it's insane.

Teams have figured them out but guess what. Leicester get lucky.

I remember one game, okay I don't remember who but I do remember Leicester were completely dominated and didn't have a shot on goal till like the 70th+ minute while the other team had plenty of shots and possession. That one shot they finally had on goal? It ended up going in. I'm pretty sure they didn't get another shot on goal after that.

Teams have a few games like that every season. They win one or two they probably shouldn't by putting away there chance or getting lucky with the bounce at the other end. But it's happened to Leicester in damn near every game

So you want Leicester to be punished for being absolutely clinical in front of goal and defending well?

Punished? no

I would like my team to get that lucky though.

that's pretty much the basis for countering. absorb pressure and cause the other team to get anxious, committing more resources forward. all you need is one mistake/chance/goal and you're good.

i think you'd be able to look at most championship seasons by any team and see how they narrowly beat many teams, even teams much worse than them.

it's NEVER EVER "LUCKY" to win the premier league. that's why it's a season long trophy. no one off matches. you have to perform well the ENTIRE season.

As was said earlier.. "the table doesn't lie". This isn't about a team getting hot at the right time like Coughlin's Giant SB winners. The Foxes have performed great with the spotlight. No reason to think that they won't win the PL.

Not sure if MLSter is trolling hard or really calling good defending, clinical finishing, and being TOP OF THE EPL "lucky"?

I think a lot of it is him just being salty that his Swansea, a relative newcomer to the EPL landscape that tried to play possession-based soccer, has been a dumpster fire this season.

Mahrez is by no means a world class player and likely never will be.

He's an above average footballer that's had an outstanding, very likely once in a lifetime season.

LOOKS LIKE WE GOT A TROLL OFF.

My money is definitely on McGaig, I've seen his work before. MLS is too green to take down this veteran.

Good thing it's a player of the YEAR award, then.

I don't care if you think Mahrez is a shade above a Fellaini in terms of talent, you can't argue his stats and how much he's meant to the team that's going to win the dang league.

I mean yeah, I even said it in the Man City season thread that Mahrez has been the best player in the league this year bar none.

Without him they aren't where they are.

There are lot of people who are Mad Online™ today

ETA: People who say Mahrez isn't good obviously never watched Leicester. I was always thoroughly impressed when I watched him. He was their biggest threat most matches I watched. A lot of people were saying he was going to get snapped up by another team when Leicester were destined for relegation.
