This term is ridiculously overused on this board, especially when the majority of posters are and have always lived here in the States.

I don't know what you're talking about

I always refer to kickoffs in GMT

Well if you must know, my dad's foreign and has supported United since the 60s. My Godparents are from Lancashire. I was brought up a United fan all my life and have watched them for as long as i can remember.

I was referring to the entire City organization as being plastic. They have no history and no tradition to speak of. They were a retirement club for prem players until their Arab cash injection.
United built their success through promotion of youth, great managers and a great fanbase. None of those things could have ever been said about City pre 2008. They are ahollow club without a soul that can't sell out their own stadium for Champions League matches. Hence the Plastic label.

Also, whatever you posted is a broken link for me SCH. I can only imagine that it's a fist going up my arse after Gump's response.

While reading this post, I was like one of those kids in movies who stands behind the bully and cheers him on when he beats up somebody.

City has always had a loyal but small base. The stadium is just to big for the club. Their issue is they are playing catch up big time trying to get fans in a country where people already have generations of following a team. They get tourist and fans from London now like everyone else but the base will never be big enough.

tough pill to swallow, but i think this is a fair assessment of the situation, except i don't know if i can say that the base will never be big enough.

Ask someone in England that is a fan of another club who has the plastic fans.

I think you'll find most people without a horse in the race will say City has "proper" fans and Utd's are "plastic." Just what I've found from English people I know from London, Leicester, Hull, Newcastle, etc.

People used to say City have proper fans, not anymore. Now you guys are a running joke here.

Newcastle have proper fans. Still packing it in while in the Championship.

St James park 52,405

Maine Road 35,150

The council house is too big for City.

I honestly didn't know that salt stayed in the system this long after a derby loss.

Honestly, I always felt that the best Premier League club fits for Guardiola would be Chelsea or Arsenal. He just does not seem like a Manchester guy. He really does not seem like a living in England guy, but if he is, he seems like a London guy.

I'll be honest, I never thought City would be appealing to Pep. At least not this soon.
