We need an Atlanta United devoted thread...

You probably do need an Atlanta-specific thread. Although my intent was more in regards to MLS vs CSL. It's a problem. These aren't the types of targets we want to be losing out to China on.

I was planning on starting an AUFC season thread soon if no one else did because the season opener was announced this morning.

Can't compete with the wages.
China is dumping insane amounts of money into the game at all levels that MLS and USSF can only dream of right now.

China offered him 3 or 4 times more than Atlanta did.

1. It's not sustainable
2. If it is sustainable they won't be buying MLS targets for long, they'll be buying the targets of teams from the big 5 European leagues
3. There are probably enough south and central Americans to go around anyhow, and if not MLS will have more money to invest in development in N. America

The difference is this is all state sponsored so as long as the Chinese gov't wants it then it is sustainable. MLS and USSF can't compete with that. It sucks.
