Idk, Lichaj is a horse. It's a close battle.

I think I'd be tempted to go with:

----------------Howard--------------
Cherundolo-Gooch-Bocanegra-Bornstein
----Spector-Bradley-Edu-Donovan-----
-----------Dempsey-Altidore---------

But play it as:

----------------Howard--------------
-----------Gooch-Bocanegra----------
Cherundolo-----------------Bornstein
---------Spector-Bradley-Edu--------
-------Dempsey-Altidore-Donovan-----

Solidify the middle with our best ball winners (and experience), have our best attackers focusing on scoring goals, and Bornstein and Cherundolo doing what they do best, get up and down the wings.

Come with Lichaj, Agudelo, Kljestan or Bedoya in the second to rest whoever is tired. Or if we can manage three or four goals somehow, get the yellow carded guys out.

Yah, I like Ive's Roster prediction for tonight.

Boca pushed inside in place of Ream, Lichaj/Bornstein on the left flank. Edu in place of Jones, and Klejstan out right with Dempsey up top.

If we struggle against Guadaloupe, I'll be legitimately concerned about our immediate future.

I would be fine with that.

I also wouldn't mind something like

-------------------Jozy----------------------

Bedoya?------------Dempsey---------------Donovan

Jones/Edu Bradley

Bornstein---------Boca--------Goodson-------Dolo

There need to be changes though.

I'd criticize that, except Spector actually did damn well in the midfield against Spain.

I'd probably swap Edu and Bradley, and let Maurice sit deep and protect the middle, or even let Spector and Edu sit behind him, 4-2-1-3 ish

Lone striker with two supporting attackers (Demp/Don) would work against weaker sides, and it's worth trying for later use against better sides.

Christmas Tree FTW

I just don't think Kljestan has the wheels to run on the wing non-stop.

Klejstan would be fine as a third central midfielder in a 4-3-3 like Sheep had or the Christmas Tree type formation. I don't like him out wide.

IF I WAS BOB

----------- Altidore ---- Dempsey --------

Donovan ---- Bradley ---- Klejstan ---- Spector

Lichaj --- Bocanegra -- Goodson --- Cherundolo

------------------- Howard ---------------

Klejstan's played well enough to deserve a start.

I don't trust anything that's not a 4-4-2.

My only concern is that Kljestan is better going forward than defending. Which means Bradley has to defend more, even though he's a better option than Kljestan is going forward.

One of the few things that HAS looked good is Kljestan/Bedoya coming off the bench. I'd leave that part alone.

Works for me. Might not put Klejstan out to start, though.

Figured it was a typo. Though the Landon up top idea hasn't been tossed around enough.

I think Donovan has been by far the most disappointing player since the WC. Just doesn't look interested.

Dempsey is by far a better player at this point, IMO.

Agree with the Dempsey sentiment. And I've thrown the, Donovan up top, idea around a few time myself.

Bedoya out left and Spector out right with Dempsey and Donovan up top? It would make for an interesting game.

I know one thing, Chandler and Holden would have been HUUUUGE for this roster.

Kljestan has only had one good sub. He played well in the center against Spain and not so well on the wings. I'm not sold on him, at all.

I think you can mask that in a 3 man central midfield though. I wouldn't want him as part of a two man 4-4-2 central midfield. Plus he can defend a bit, and if you have Jones/Edu sitting deep that gives him and Bradley more room to get forward.

I don't think he has to start or anything though. Just that if he does I'd prefer him more centrally.

Yea, he didn't start. He was a sub. He played centrally too, which like I said is his better position.

I would love to see Spector in the mid. Spector at mid > Spector at defense.
