Haven't been able to keep up with the xfers due to the bar--how would you guys grade our moves so far?

B-

Yes, we addressed the goals/creativity problem, but once again we failed to pick up a proper DM. And we are very thin at left and right back. Left back moreso.

Joe Gomez has been a revelation so far in preseason and if Flanno gets healthy and anywhere close to his pre injury form, I think we'll be fine at fullback.

I'm pleased with the transactions thus far. We broke the bank (paid market value) for two guys in positions of need. I think we bought some goals. Clyne steps in and becomes our RB for the foreseeable future. Gomez has looked exceedingly promising in the preseason, I'd like to see him get a real runout in cup games. Milner adds some steel to the midfield. Only additional thing I'd like to see is an out and out CDM, but I think Rodgers is likely satisfied with Lucas, Allen and Can in that role.

And how was the bar? I took it in 2011 and have been having nightmares all week that I woke up late and missed it. It's like nerd PTSD.

We just have to come to the realization its never going to happen. He's never going to play with one.

My grade is an A-.

Idk about yall but I honestly think Can can be a great DM for us in the future and that's why BR isn't going after one. I love all the players we got this offseason and I could see us competing for a top 4 spot if we start out hot and win/ draw those important early away games. I'd rate an A for sure and I'm super pumped to see what these new guys bring to the table.

I agree that he won't sign a true DM unless something changes. He wants something different at the position and thinks that Lucas/Allen can play it. Maybe Can too but I worry if CAn has the discipline to play it.

I think Allen has his moments there and Lucas too - we played our best last season during a stretch where Lucas played. But Lucas is not quite what he was a few years ago and I think Allen is too inconsistent and small to be the main guy there - great backup that plays 25 games a year but not the starting XI DM.

It's a need but I think BR doesn't see it as such.

I think we have a shot at top four but aren't favorites. I'm not sold on Man U or man city but both can pull in another world class player or two in the next few weeks.

Fifth to me would not be a disappointment - but we have to be nipping on the heels of fourth. No 10-12 point gap. Below tat is disappointing and above that is great.

Lovren got beat and Roberts scored with a decent finish.

Ibe just cut in on his weaker left foot and blasted it in the near post top corner. It was a great goal. LINK

1-1 at halftime.

Ibe has had several good runs this preseason and I'm excited to see what he does this year. I know he worked a lot on his shot at the end of last year.

Ibe is an even more physical specimen than Sterling.

And I'll be happy to not have to watch Sterling's gay boy chest out, limp wrist sprint anymore.

Plus Ibe has a dope flat top and his parents handle his business. Hope for the sake of Karma he becomes badass and the other one flops.

You don't say.

If he ever starts over a healthy Sakho this season, I'm going to lose my shite.

It's not even close. Ibe is a panzer tank. Sterling is a moped, with pink streamers attached to the handle bars

Yeah it was a nice shot but he won't get the time to stop and look up in England.

Finishing has been shite. Moreno and Lallana had very VERY good looks and still hit it right at the keeper.

Meh pre-season.

Gotta shake off that Ibiza sand. I think we're going to create a SHITLOAD of chances this year. At least we know it's going to be fun to watch.
