Just saw that tackle on Lucas... He's fortunate it didn't seriously hurt him.. Should have been a straight red and not a second yellow, but glad he's ok..

Yeah You saw how bad it effected Emre and that was his own player and just his foot. When it hits you in the ankle like where it struck Lucas that stuff is excruciating.

Well, couple of things I noticed...

Sterling was EVERYWHERE, but despite his gorgeous goal, he still sucks at finishing. Missed 2 wide open goals, and still has the tendency to feel that he must do everything in the final third, never even thinking of passing.

Coutinho is far and away our best player. I don't know how this is debatable. Even on his worst day, he is a great passer and creates fantastic chances.

Johnson is slow, but made great passes and runs in the final third. Never seen that from him since I began watching.

Moreno was pretty good today. Beautiful strike, unfortunately hit the goalie in the face pretty much.

Allen and Lucas dominated the midfield. Only time it really got away from them was on errant passes.

Ibe played a bad game. Not horrible, just very sub-par for what he has exhibited before today.

Hendo was great. Absolutely dominated.

I love this forsaken team. Not an amazing showing by any means, but we were dominant for most of the match.

YNWA!!

Right. The worst part of his game today was something an injury generally shouldn't affect, that being passing.

He gets a pass because he was rusty, but our team in general has been terrible in passing all year. Not really attributable to one single player, more of a disease really.

ETA: Sturridge possibly out for FA Cup Semifinal due to injury, per espnfc.com.

Un frickin believable. Look for Borini on the bench with Lambert getting a showing and no Balotelli.

WE HAVE TO GET A STRIKER but we won't, we'll sell Balo and get Ings and Origi.

Sterling's decision making in the final third is shocking at times. Such a wasteful player but magnificent at the same time.

I think Coutinho is on the verge of a Hazard type season. Really needs to tidy up his decision making, but all the tools are there. Half the time he's just one dribble to long and passes instead of shoots and vice versa. We need him to score more next year with our pathetic 7 goal strike force.

I am worried that this is our plan. If we get to Europe I am still holding out hope for Lacazette but I'm probably dreaming. With Can going to midfield that means we need a rock in the back four, if not two. Rodger's tactical shift, Can's versatility and Mignolet's comeback saved this season from disaster in my opinion. Of course we might be counting on Wisdom and it looks like BR has not given up on Lovren. I am not confident in BR or FSG in the transfer market but I'll hold out hope. That being said if anyone is counting on Sturridge they are crazy, he is an injury waiting to happen and desperately needs to play off someone even though it appears BR does not share this opinion. Although I wouldn't listen to me I thought he brought Balotelli in to do just that, evidently he wanted more twitter followers for players or maybe Instagram pics.

He's Borini with playing time IMO.

If Borini could finish, he'd be a great player. He gets a shite ton of chances and runs when he is in, but he never drives anything home it seems.

Also, what is our obsession with rail-thin strikers with no stature? Seems like our strikers and attacking mids are in a damned forest trying to get to the ball amongst the defenders...

Couldn't disagree more. He was a born finisher and has better passing range than Borini. He's definitely not ready to start but he's be a terrific striker off the bench until he matures a bit more.

Didn't even think about that bc the two have nothing to do with each other. There is thread for that already.

Good point but it's him and it's being reported all over. I'm not going to judge the kid for smoking hookah or huffing balloons bc I didn't plenty of dumb shite at his age. But I wasn't asking to be paid 100k plus a week

The hookah with Ibe is old news but the balloons came out yesterday.
