Way too early observation - I'm not convinced Wijnaldum can play a part in the 2 of a 4-2-3-1. He's been slow rotating on cross field balls a few times now. I know he's said he can play anywhere in midfield, but he looks out of place in a double pivot where the priority should be protecting an already leaky defense.

I'll also add I think I underrated Mané. He's looked very good IMO. Great asset with all the pressing and his pace is something we desperately needed.

there are a few moments where you can tell when all the fellas click.. we could be very scary.. especially on the counter..
It was good to see the burst by Studge on that one pass from Mane..
Lovren was getting abused by Dzeko..

Yea not bad for a preseason game.
I still say at this point, Hendo is the best partner for Can if we do play the double pivot for his energy alone.
Our front 4 definitely looks dangerous so we need midfielders that can stay disciplined and help break up play. Just my opinion

Against, the better teams... Hendo should play ahead of Wijnaldum... their MF 3 is quality and our over running our 2.. leaving us a little exposed..

If there was ever a play that defined Mignolet that was it...
Great reaction save from close range. Ball bounces up and he hesitates allowing Salah to tap it in... that didn't take long to make it to the internet
I'll give him that he's not getting helped out with Wisdom and Stewart as the CB pairing ahead of him
