Barcelona is pretty hypocritical considering their shite talking about Real Madrid. All of these teams will end up getting Rangers'd.

Hypocritical yes, but Barca will do anything to make sure Real don't get him. They pose their attitude as the Anti-Real, but will spend money like them to prevent Neymar going to them.

I think Neymar can slot into the left-wing role quite well for Barca if he can adapt to their passing game.

Seems like a very bad fit to me.
Unless they are just going for the smallest starting 11 ever.

I think we've all been kind of force fed Neymar for a while. I'm waiting to see him play consistently before I really make a judgment.

I just hope this gets Barca out of the Javi Martinez running and Bilbao accepts ~25m for him.

I think it's more of a difference in how they complete transfers. Barça only looked like complete shitheads during the Fabregas saga. They buy big players on a case-by-case basis, and by need. Madrid occasionally decide to buy several mega-stars in one summer (done it twice), and disregard half of them after a season. Both iterations of Perez's Galaticos were fairly unsuccessful by Real Madrid's insane standards.

Nobody is going to get the Rangers treatment because all of the mega clubs make enough revenue to appease their bank lenders. Rangers had very little money for quite sometime, and lied about their profits. I don't think Madrid, Manchester United and Barcelona are deceiving their respective banks and countries' respective tax agencies.

Good, now Barca can have the #1 and #2 players in the world. (Neymar and Messi, respectively.)

If Spain ever fixed their TV revenue system, then it might force Real and Barca to be a little more realistic. As of right now, they can be a little wasteful because they produce enough revenue to service their massive debts. That might not always be the case though.

They didn't build their team around Villa, nor will they construct it around Neymar. It's still Xaviesta and Messi's team with Neymar.

i'm just talking about money, though

It's not like they spent a 50 million on an aging and injured Kaka, only for him to spend most of his time on the bench.

kaka was a mistake, like zlatan and villa (apparently)

it's not just this one signing. it's fabregas, villa, ibra, sanchez. etc

plus it's all the shite-talking from a few years ago when objective people knew barca was no different

I think even Barca knew different. But they will do and say anything to paint Madrid in a bad light, which they did. When Real responds to this then the war of words will start over again.

All I care about is how much the Neymar deal will affect Americaniesta's development.

Pep
Busquets
Fabregas
Iniesta
Messi
Pedro
Pique
Puyol
Valdes
Xavi

Who else can claim that kind of homegrown talent?

Seems like there's a stark contrast b/t them and RM, at least. "No different" is a laugh.

Dont know if this has been said, but Barca are supposed to be putting a "Down payment" on the player as Neymar wants to play in Brazil leading up to the World Cup.

The stranglehold Barca and Real together have on revenue tends, in my opinion, to make the "doing it the right way" spill even more annoying than just shutting up about it. In the big picture, it's like Target calling out Walmart for crippling local retailers.

Barca certainly have more youth academy products than the other handful of richest clubs but I'm sure the operating budget of La Masia is aided in no small part by the uneven revenue deal they and their corporate buddies Real "negotiate."

Will City be doing it the "right way" if their massive investment in the youth academy starts to pay dividends in 10 years? In a way, yeah, certainly, but no one will want to hear them stroke their ego over it when the most important ingredient was the insane amount of capital necessary to pull it off.

The only really dumb one there was Ibrahimovic, who had a decent start during his one year and famously fell out with Guardiola.

Most of their transfer were around the player's valuation, aside from Alexis. Fabregas even went for a cheaper fee than his value at the time. None besides Ibra have flopped.

Well they bought Zlatan for 61,160,000 pounds and sold him for 21,120,000.

Bought Dmytro Chygrynskiy for 22 million pounds and sold him for 13.

Paid:
31.24mm for Dani Alves
14.96mm for Hleb
14.52mm for Caceres
17.6mm for Mascherano
35.2mm for David Villa
12.32mm for Keirrison
29.92mm for Cesc
22.88mm for Alexis Sanchez
12.32mm for Jordi Alba

And all of that is fine, a lot of them were good buys. Their holier than thou act is what is annoying to me. They're a fantastic organization that has built a machine, but they didn't do it on a poor man's budget.

They also cut into a bit of that transfer budget by selling off academy and B team players not quite good enough for the first team.

I mean not really. Their biggest departures were guys like Ronaldinho, Zlatan, and Yaya Toure. They sell guys for like 2 and 3 million every now and then..

Selling anything from an academy to a top league team for over a million is decent business. They're losing substantial money in the market, but every big club besides Arsenal does that.

Barca still spend 25 mil or more on a player atleast once, Ibra, Chygrynskiy,Villa, Sanchez, Fabregas now Neymar..over the last 3 years they've spent over 100mil more than they have received in transfers all while being well over 400mil in debt...double Reals

And from what I've read these guys are all on well over 100k a week, I odnt know how they plan to get out of that sort of debt, but due to the way Spanish teams presidency is sorted out nobody is willing to face up to these problems

The point is that they're in substantial debt, all the while lamenting Real Madrid for irresponsible spending.
