Battle for the Champions League.
3rd place Lazio (66 pts) vs. 4th place Napoli (63 pts)
The Sensation - Felipe Anderson (how is he not on Brazil's NT?)
The Legend - Miroslav Klose (Don't leave!)
vs.
The Captain - Marek Hamsik (Napoli for life)
The Departing Manager - Rafael Benitez (His last game)
This is going to be good!

They were 2nd at the end of April, but Roma passed them.

Odio Lazio.
Odio Napoli.
But I'll be watching. It should be a good one.

I meant, Lazio hasn´t been anywhere near that classification in eons..... I simply wrongly assumed this season was like every other of recent memory.

I didn't even realize that Klose still played for Lazio....still can't believe that his time at Bayern was so unheralded.

Lazio has a strong team. They had the best form in the league over the 2nd half of the season and were a bit unlucky to not beat Juve in the Coppa final last week.
They bought wisely the last two summers and have their hands on some younger players that are playing at the top of their positions across Europe, wealthiest clubs included.
Every one's aware of Felipe Anderson's season but also De Vrij, after starting a bit slow, has had a breakout season. Biglia and Parolo are already known (I suppose) as international players for Argentina and Italy but both really stepped up a notch this seasons.
Candreva would be a full out superstar if he played for a team in a brighter spotlight.
Of course, there's also that they weren't in Europe this year which always seems worth 10 extra points in the Serie A table.
This match tomorrow is immensely important for Lazio's trajectory though (as well as Napoli's).
Both really need that CL spot or may risk losing a few young stars.
In what is a pretty deep and rapidly improving Serie A, a fall from third to out of the top 10 is a real possibility.
The top two of the table are going to be hard to displace next year and maybe the next couple:
Juve will probably strengthen even more than anyone this summer.
If Roma didn't fall out of second place with arguably the most detrimental injury list in Europe this year, it's hard to see it happening when they get back to anywhere near full strength.
Then there's Fiorentina, Inter, Sampdoria, Torino, Genoa and Milan all right behind.

Bump. Need to keep this on the 1st page.
Napoli need a win. Lazio only need a draw.
If Lazio lose, it would be a crushing end to the season losing in the Coppa Italia final to Juventus, the Derby della Capitale to Roma, and missing Champions League football with a defeat at Napoli.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking above. A fourth place finish could have been a positive for Lazio but not by losing the derby, then to Napoli with the Coppa Italia loss sandwiched in between. It's the kind of scenario that usually precipitates a lot of off season moves.
Rafa has the chance, in his last match, to re-define his entire tenure from the way most Napoli fans see it: a slow decline. Napoli finished 2nd with a nice CL run in Mazzarri's final season and dropped to 3rd in Rafa's first season, then crashed out of the CL playoff and could now possibly finish in fifth place and out of the CL spots.
A bit oddly, BeIN English is showing Roma play their kids against Palermo and airing Napoli v Lazio on BeIN Spanish. Maybe that's for Real Madrid fans. . .

Really? I hadn't looked at the schedule yet, but that's surprising. The Express on beIN was even advertising Napoli-Lazio as their game of the week tonight.

Yeah, it seems to just be on BeIN Espanol live and repeated on BeIN at 10pm EST unless they change it last minute (or just replace both matches with footage of some plumbers installing new shower heads in Barca's locker room).
Seriously, it would be par for the course that BeIN doesn't even connect the dots. It's often been the case this season that the Express, Locker Room and Serie A Show will discuss the biggest match of the week and then they air Juve, Roma, Inter and Milan against bottom of the table sides instead.
I suppose it could have something to do with RAI International though there have been some bigger matches on both channels simultaneously this season.

I like beIN's coverage for the most part, but yeah, I know what you're saying.
Funnily enough, I remember earlier in the season, Milan's struggles were being discussed on The Locker Room and either Ian Joy or Matteo Bonetti said something to the effect of "we might not be watching much of them anymore this season". I took it as a possible programming comment, but I was apparently wrong.
Maybe they're trying to generate more traffic to their website to stream games

He played more last season but I think it's just a matter of Felipe Anderson breaking out this year combined with all their attack being healthier. Also perhaps that they weren't chasing goals late in matches as often.
From all I hear on the radio shows, they're still really high on him but, at 20, he's more of a wild card than a consistent threat.
