The OP is in any discussion about pure technical ability. First touch and vision are as good as they get for a number 10.

Scholes could have carried England deep into tournaments if he was made the center of the team. He would have been like Pirlo.

Except for the inevitable terrible tackle that would have him suspended. Scholes retired way too soon from International play. A GREAT player.
