So, the most southern state is not "southern"?

By what definition?

Florida is in the south, geographically speaking. So is Hawaii and Los Angeles and Phoenix. The South, capitalized, is generally accepted to basically considered be the confederacy.

I think the OP basically meant there are no teams in Nola, Memphis, or Atlanta. Between Houston and Orlando most people could get to a game if they really wanted to, but it'd be a trip and it's hard to adopt either of those as a team

Not really. Most people in Louisiana have adopted a baseball team in Houston, or Atalanta, which is similar or farther than Orlando

Orlando is a hell of a drive

438 mi, In current traffic: 6 hours 21 mins From Atlanta
618 mi, In current traffic: 9 hours 49 mins From Huntsville.
786 mi, In current traffic: 12 hours 10 mins From Memphis

That is a long arse way away for most people to commute even for a single game.

I suppose I should clarify Central MS, AL, and GA are a long way from Houston/Orlando. It isn't an easy drive unless you are a hardcore fan.

I'm just ready for the Saintard meltdown on here when Atlanta gets a MLS team.

Why would they melt? Are they that obsessed with ATL?

Some New Orleanians and native ATLians are mutually obsessed with each other. On here (generally), there are some people from Louisiana who can't accept anywhere other than Louisiana, or their part of LA, being talked about positively

Or that NOLA isn't seen as a major US city.

Wasn't aware of that. ATL and NoLa are great cities, the pettiness of local jingoism is a bit disappointing.

Saintards on here have gradually become worse than Rantards. Some of the Help Board threads during the playoffs were unbelievable.

Sums it up quite nicely.
