i cringed when the man vs food guy said people in america started to take note of everton when landon was there. not like they have an american in goal or anything.

Tbf, ESPN had pretty much daily updates on Cakes at Everton and they barely talked about Howard unless he was playing for the USMNT.

I was fortunate enough to live in England for a while and learned that this is just how they like to discuss sports. We are used to the ESPN analysis where we have former players breaking down film and giving us x's and o's. The culture over there is different in that regard, they are incredibly passionate in their support of their clubs but are more casual in their discussions of the sport.
