It should have been a penalty, but I would have been ok with the ref giving a card to the ManU player for embellishing it.
I think that should happen more often. Too often players get a touch that should be a foul, but then they dive to force the ref to make a decision. Call the initial foul if there is one, but card the embellishment if there was one.

it was a foul that started outside the box and on replay shows drinkwater is still grabbing him once he is in the box

IMO, i don't think you can give a card for diving if there is contact... way too subjective... no contact, sure..
until they started calling penalties when a player is fouled, but plays through it.. going down is going to be part of the game..

Yeah. We see players punished too often for staying on their feet. Pundits/People on Twitter praise them, but the referee fails to take action. If I'm Memphis, I'm going down 101/100 times there. Heck, I'd have thrown in a couple of barrel rolls, too.
