Jamie and Jamie are pissed at halftime

both very critical about the gk

sad he should have shut up when Gary Neville was talking about him.

so at what point, then, do THEY figure that out?

Hopefully, the next purchases (jan or summer).

You can't do it all in one window... He did bring in Matip and Karius last summer (no matter what you think of them - he knew we needed upgrades)

If you really feel this way about Mustafi, you are either not watching him enough or a poor judge of talent.

Mustafi at worst has been as good as Matip. There is a reason we haven't lost a single game he's started.

We haven't lost one with Matip (and he's been partnered with Lovren/Lucas)...

It's simply my opinion.. Im glad you value him that highly..

Schalke played with 10 men since the 5th minute.

Leverkusen finally broke them in the 89th.

We haven't lost one with Mustafi either (in the league) nor have we lost one with Xhaka (in the league).

I'd argue that Mustafi has been amazing passing out of the back. Matip is the more physical defender, while Mustafi fouls more often to make up for his slight physical disadvantage. That's the most noticeable difference between the two. Matip is a pretty good passer as well. He came up as a DM if I remember right.

Matip is just so smooth.. in possession, passing and while defending... I actually think we need a more physical defender to compliment him..

His height (6'4") helps him in aerial duels, as well...

For a free transfer, considering what defenders are going for these days, he's great... at 25, could potentially be right up there with Hyypia in regards to value and longevity...
