Heard them say they wouldn't discuss date of match until the package "was detonated", which leads me to believe it was a bomb....

controlled detonation carried out by bomb squad. That doesnt mean it was a bomb, a lot of the time to be safe they will just use methods to dispose of a package instead of moving it to be safe.

So instead of evacuating the players, they held them in the stadium for 4 hours with a bomb there.
