Let's not forget about ole Adnan, seems he's made the full time switch to CF, too.

Will he take the starting role next season after De Gea moves on?
I think he would have to show a lot more at the club level than he has shown in recent years. We signed him after his contract had run at Sampdoria. He mainly had been their backup all of last year. The previous year (2013-2014) Sampdoria loaned him to Monaco after a poor run of form. He was the back-up at Monaco and only made 3 appearances for them that season. He has been good for Argentina, but I can't see him going from where he's been at club level to the number one at United. I know he and van Gaal have a history but so did van Gaal and Valdes.

If De Gea moves, United will 100% be purchasing a new keeper, IMO.

Manchester United could face a tricky Champions League playoff against the likes of CSKA Moscow, Lazio, Monaco or Sporting Lisbon in August.
Who would you most/least want to face.

I'd say I feel most confident against Lisbon and would least like to face Lazio. However any one of those teams could win a couple in a row and get hot. Any one of those teams in good form could be a potential loss.

Di Maria needs to GTFO. Pretty serious case of bad professionalism on his part. I guess PSG are low balling b/c they know he wants out. If they don't up their bid, I really hope we keep him and let him rot.
The guy has the mental fortitude/strength of a small child. This includes his red card for grabbing the ref and his season last year.
I realize he had a difficult time transitioning to England, but guess what. If you get paid as much as you do, you better toughen up buttercup.
Was really excited about him and he folded up and crumbled like a little biatch.

You said it man.
Guillem Balague, who usually knows his shite, is reporting we agreed a £44.2M fee for him. I would be happy enough with that just to move him on.

Aside from a few defensive blunders, I thought we played pretty well last night. Memphis regressed a bit, but I thought Darmian was outstanding.
Still not sold on the Jones/Blind partnership, hopefully that's just a little pre-season gamesmanship.

I agree, Darmian is the man and i think he's already won the starting spot over Valencia, imo. Luke shaw was good too. We were dominating at the beginning and Schweiny was connecting with Memphis and Rooney very well.
CB partnership needs some work.

Here's what I want to see against Spurs...
Memphis-----Rooney------Mata
---------Schweine---Herrera---------
-------------Schniederlin-----------
Shaw--Smalling-Jones--Darmian
A couple of things...It really pains me to leave out Michael Carrick and Ashley Young, but we're running a surplus at CM and LW/LF/LM, whatever you want to call it, at the moment.
I think Schiederlin gives you a bit more defensively, which we're in desperate need of, and while Young is less likely to make a massive mistake/give the ball away/etc, Memphis just looks like he can make something out of nothing every time he touches the ball.
The other option is to play Carrick at CH, SAF did this regularly, and let him and Schiederlin rotate throughout the match, but LvG hasn't shown a willingness to do that, yet.

This is the daily mail's projected 11. Which is just what we opened up with last night.

Just flip Depay and Mata.

Depay has definitely been playing underneath Rooney in these pre season games. I can see the appeal of trying it, but he's just not savvy enough right now.

Louis van Gaal has confirmed he intends to use a 4-3-3 formation with Manchester United in the new Barclays Premier League season.
The Reds appeared to operate with a system resembling 4-2-3-1 on Tour 2015 presented by Aon as Memphis Depay performed in a no.10 role behind centre-forward Wayne Rooney with Ashley Young and Juan Mata on the flanks. However, it would seem from the manager's latest comments that he sees the position occupied in pre-season by his fellow Dutchman as being part of the midfield three.

Another striker would have been a nice get... Rooney at the 10, Depay LW, and Young as a sub.
