What is it with freaking Palace? They own us.

ETA: Erling FN Haaland.

Will be nice to not seeing us not playing from behind.

Bernardo was the MOTM. Haalands Hat Trick was due to his work in traffic and the addition of Alvarez to spread the Palace Defense. I sort of expect to see more of this as Pep looks for more offensive production while the Defensive side is knicked up.

Haaland is an absolute monster. We saw why he gets hurt though, soft challenges don’t affect him, players will come after him harder and that is why he gets hurt.

I really hope EPL refs do what they claim and protect players. I expect many red card challenges to come in on him.

We really need to improve the back line. Pep said last week they're not interested in buying rn bc Are will be returning soon and Laporte will be coming back in October. Our depth Saturday was academy players. That's cool (maybe) against Palace. That will not work against Top 6 teams. Or in CL.
Yes I am still pissy that we sold Zinny and Gabby. Sterling, not so much even though he was one of my favorite players a few years ago.

Selling Zinchenko was complete mistake - the others could deal with

We always need defensive depth as season goes on, he can play almost anywhere, and is the ultimate professional.

I still don't get it

Selling Zinny and not securing a serious replacement is my #1 gripe about this summer. It's clear Pep, for whatever reason, didn't favor him but IMO he was consistent and at least average. Instead, we'll run Cancelo, Walker, and Laporte into the ground.

I like Cancelo on the left but he's a natural right and we need him there to cover for Walker. Zinny was the ideal squad player for us.

Ake has proven himself if he can stay fit.

We also have bodies in the youth ranks. We shouldn’t expect to be 6-deep at ever spot.

We moved a lot of deadweight for good profit this year.

Big if.

There's a difference between 6-deep and "well we have and attacking RB that can kinda play LB, a 32 y/o RB, and a kid that was a CM until recently." We got good money for Zinny but didn't do shite to replace him.

Sterling was a big part of the squad and Jesus was crucial depth. I was borderline excited to see Raz go and I understand Jesus wanting to leaave but to say they were deadweight is a bit much.
