Maybe wishful thinking, but players of that magnitude always have issues working together.
Yea but both are such versatile players. Unlike Torres and Drogba who were both centre forwards, RVP and Rooney can both play all over the pitch.

True, but Tevez and Messi have always had a tough time w/Argentina because both like that false 9, even though both versatile... We can only hope!!!!!! And apparently RVP can be a club house cancer... see Netherlands Euro 2012

I think RVP at centre forward with Rooney in the hole will be fricking awesome. Hope they crash and burn though.

In the time that Arsenal has had 6 captains (Viera, Silva, Henry, Gallas, Cesc, RVP) Liverpool have had 1. Steven Gerrard. Legend.

seriously what does a captain even mean anymore at the Emirates?
Steve Gerrard Gerrard, hes big and hes fricking hard

Rumor Du Jours for today collected by the echo:
Everton looking at Charlie Adam for 5 million pounds. They are saying that is a price we're offering to everyone. (Mirror)
Sahin deal done. Tello move collapsed. Reportedly wants to fight for his spot at Barca. (Mirror)
QPR are prepping a move for Andy Carroll. (Caught Offside)
Grains of Salt

Supposedly Arsenal is trying to hijack the Sahin deal? Still likely to go to Liverpool, but won't be announced for a couple days

Yeah I mentioned that earlier in the United thread, I think. Here's to hoping, though.

None of the ITKs did either... he was linked to Ajax and Fulham.
I just watched a 4 minute youtube clip. That's all I know of him, but he's quick and has skill... I guess we'll find out soon enough how that translates over...

So is Dempsey out? Seems Tello may be as well.

From the resident Eredivisie expert on the LFC forums...
Oussama Assaidi's stats for SC Heerenveen last season: 29 matches (27 starts) I 10 goals and 8 assists.

My opinion on this transfer is first of all that it is very surprising. It was only a few days ago that he was telling the Dutch press that he wanted to go to Ajax. I can only imagine that we highjacked that deal and offered him a higher salary than Ajax could or would afford. But this is all the business side of it and you guys want to know about what kind of player he is.
He is a right footed left sided winger who is comparable in style to Ribery. He has a lot of talent, but it is a big step up from Heerenveen to us. A bit of a gamble, but the risk is low and it could be a masterstroke. If this guy can transform his Eredivisie form to this league then we have a gem on our hands.

Definitely doesn't rule out Dempsey. The Tello deal has been dead for over a day now.

Another one:

Coming from Holland I've watched him quite a bit. Until today Ajax were pretty sure to sign this guy, he actually posed in an Ajax shirt about a week ago and there were just few details missing for him to join them so far. Fulham also joined in the chase for him today.
He's a talented player with a lot of flair, he is pacey and can both provide assists and score. Last season, Heerenveen had the best attacking trio in the Eredivisie with Assaidi, Bas Dost and Luciano Narsingh. I think he was the best out of those 3, funny thing is that they all got a transfer after last season.
I doubt he already has the qualities to really perform in the Premier League this season, but he certainly has talent.
