41mil is a lot considering Villa was brought for around 60 when Lerner brought us...a couple of years ago yes but lack of premier league severally lowers a clubs value and I'm not 100% sure they even own Elland road

Bernard Arnault

wasn't he banned from football for life after the PSG scandal?

or was his group the pre disaster owners who sold the club to those who f'ed up?

£41m seems to expensive for Leeds IMO. I don't know much about the state of their finances but even if they're debt free, they need to get out of the Championship ASAP, after which, without significant investment in the playing squad (hundreds of millions) they have little to no chance of going beyond mid-table in the PL.

The fact that #lufc are talking about the FL's fit and proper persons test suggests this is major investment and potentially a takeover

#lufc confirm that "a potential investor" is carrying out due diligence and has been granted an exclusivity period to complete the work

#lufc say potential investor has "financial resources to support club" and should satisfy fit and proper persons test. Buy-out looks close

Further to our previous statement of the 29th May, Leeds United can confirm they have granted an exclusivity period to enable a potential investor to carry out the appropriate due diligence.

It is anticipated this will be a fairly straightforward process.

A confidentiality clause prevents the club from making any further comment. However, our discussions with them have left us very comfortable that they have the financial resources to support the club and that they will have no issues in satisfying the requirements of the Football League's Owners and Directors Test, unlike many of the previous approaches we have had to endure.

We will not be making any further announcements in the near future.

Yes, I saw that. Let's hope it's true and that Bates will be out shortly. MOT

One sports lawyer I've spoken to says #lufc's statement at face value points firmly to a full takeover.

Highly unlikely that a deal to buy #lufc will be concluded or confirmed this week. But it's clearly very close

YEP article

my guess is this will be sorted out, hopefully, by monday.
