3-0 now
Other than Chivas the big boys are showing out for LigaMX
Only MLS teams I see that can hang with this is LAFC and Philly
Maybe Cincy but not sure how invested they will be, since they are in uncharted waters leading the league.

They play the classic MLS style, of just out run and athlete teams. Pressuring hard on bad touches and then counter
It’s not going to work well vs these higher level and very technical Mexican sides

Def not a good look seeing the western conference leaders get steam rolled

Not a good look for Chivas either tonight.

Cincy is the best team in the league
Chivas was 3rd and 11th last year in the standings
Also it’s the match suspended until today

Cincy is the best team in the league based on the table, but let’s compare budgets and team/transfer values between cincy and other MLS clubs compared to LigaMX.
Obviously SCH is here to bash MLS because that’s his SCHtick but look at Club America dropping 10 million dollars on a right back. MLS teams ain’t there yet. It’s obvious that MLS is continuing to improve because just 10 years ago you wouldn’t have seen the wins you’ve seen in this competition from American clubs. He’s probably still coping from Seattle winning the concacaf CL.

It is a really odd relationship that this board has with MLS, on one hand they want it to grow in order to boost the USMNT but on the other they call it a retirement league which will never ascend in prestige.

Hold fast discussing results is now bashing
Don’t be so sensitive bruv
It’s actually been refreshing watching MLS teams smash the mid to lower tier LigaMX teams
And how did that work out for them. They lacked the depth to even look decent in league play and then embarrassed MLS in the club World Cup

There is a solution to this issue. Take the kid gloves off. If that happens Liga MX is gonna be looking up at MLS.

Most owners don’t want to do that
Especially the franchises that don’t make money

Correct. That's why I'd bet that Aguilas, Rayados, Tigres and Cruz Azul will consistently be better than any MLS team (especially when playing in Mexico). They have resources that MLS teams can't match because of rules.

It’s times like these I miss the Allocation Disorder podcast. I haven’t found a domestic soccer podcast I like since.

It means let the teams spend real money (besides the 3 DP slots) and not be handcuffed with such a low cap. It makes the depth shite for most teams making it hard to compete on multiple fronts (MLS, US Cup, Concacaf CL, etc.).
SCH brought up a good point in a lot of the cheap owners like it the way it is. I don't mind having a cap but raise it a lot higher and make a salary floor that teams must get to so those cheap bastards have to spend something.

Will the TV deal with Apple help with increased revenues for clubs?
Posted on 7/28/23 at 6:16 pm to bad93ex
It will but a lot of teams are still losing money These expansion fees are masking this but eventually this will come to a halt.
I just believe a better product on the field will bring out people like myself that don't watch as much as I could as the standard are just too low still imo.

It does
But the league needed a deal worth 7 times what it was getting to break even

They need more eyes on the league, not sure how much was being brought in via ESPN but maybe Apple will be better. Adding Messi to the league is going to bring eyes and potential sponsorships.
