Because he's the fricking coach and he should tell a player who has been with the team for a long time why he chose not to select him for the WC squad.

He's not obliged to tell him why he wasn't selected. JK picked his squad, and he now needs to concentrate on getting those guys ready for the tournament, not worry about telling every guy he didn't select why they weren't selected.

He cut 7 guys not 30. He wasn't asking for a fricking thesis why he didn't make it. Especially a guy like Goodson who's been around for a while.
How long does it take to tell a guy, "You didn't fit into or plan strategically and there were a few guys ahead of you who we think add a little more to the team."
It's like getting a D on a paper and going to ask the teacher what you did wrong and them saying I can't tell you.

Honestly this wouldn't have even been a big deal had it not been on the tails of Landon not making the team.

From the article, it sounds like Goodson was just butthurt he didn't get selected. Just because he felt he was one of the better players in camp doesn't mean the coach did. And JK said he would talk with him after the WC, but he's got bigger things to worry about right now.

Every player cut deserves an explanation as to why. It's common decency not to mention one of the pillars of the player-coach relationship. You need to improve on this, this guy was more useful than you on A,B,C etc. As a coach you should want your players to know their faults and weaknesses in the hope they continue to strive to better themselves.
