I was sucker-punched by a Mexican last time the US played them in Philly. So, no, Philly will not be better.

You sure that wasn't just a Philly fan wearing an Eagles jersey?

How do we know that you didn't deserve it?

SirWinston is consistently shitty across all boards, so at least he's consistent, if anything.

If Mexico is there, probably not. The 2009 final was at Giant's stadium and apparently it was almost as bad.

I keep telling saying we need to host it in Alabama or Arizona, states with staunch immigration laws.

I think it will be better. Philly has a mostly Puerto Rican population in terms of Hispanics, though Mexicans do travel extremely well.

There certainly seems to be a lot of buzz about the Gold Cup this year as compared to other years. I have a few friends in DC that are thinking of making the trip to Philly if we get there, so the American turnout could be very good.

How will it be in Atlanta on Wednesday? I know we aren't playing Mexico, but I imagine they will have a lot of fans there.

A lot of tickets have been sold. But who knows how many of those are in the secondary market now.

I bought my tickets on StubHub and they still had a lot available on Saturday.

The question is, will the Americans be snapping up the secondary market or those filthy Messicans?

Fun fact: if you attend the 6:00 USMNT game, leave the Dome after the game, and sell your ticket to a Mexican for the late game, then the ticket won't work since you already used it.

CONCACAF announced on Friday that the champions of the 2013 Gold Cup will qualify for a playoff match to decide which national team will represent the region in the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup in Russia. The champions of the 2015 Gold Cup will become the second team to qualify for the single-game playoff, scheduled to take place in the second half of that same year at a site to be determined.

Random question and thought, here.

I know teams must qualify for the Euro's which make that a once every four years event. Do teams have to qualify for the Copa America, Asian Cup or the African Cup on Nations? Heck, I don't even know if teams have to qualify for the Gold Cup now that I think about it.

Not sure on Copa America, but the rest do.
