I'm going to try to have a short bio of all the World Cup teams and USMNT players done by tonight. If someone would like to organize an information on places to watch and the American Outlaws, that'd be great.

Will there be vuvuzelas?

Edit: Woohooo! Somehow I missed that FIFA outlawed them.

Can we add quick links to all the Land Donovan vs Jurgen arguments? I feel like everything has been argued and everyone knows where everyone else stands.

If you want me to do the part on where to watch and AO, I would be glad to.

What cities should I include?

Obviously, the major cities in the Southeast states. Any other suggestions?

And I know from reading here Finn's is the place to go in NO, but if y'all know some places of the tops of your heads, let me know to include them.

I'll work on it tonight while I binge watch OITNB.

Fado - Philly - Located in the center of the city, it's a plastic-paddy pub (there is one in Atlanta and a couple more thorughout the US) that is by-far the best "soccer pub" in Philadelphia. Great bartenders, numerous screens, and a large ex-pat community from every country in the Cup.

Plough and the Stars - Philly - Located in the prettier part of downtown Philly, The Plough is an authentic Irish pub that also has a bad-arse chef. It's also the place to go in Philly if you want to watch the Cup with less annoying hipsters and less of a crowd (they only started showing matches for non-"Ploughboys" after my recommendation, so it's less well known as a soccer pub). This is also the pub responsible for Magner's sponsorship of Celtic (I can tell the story if you want). The best bartender is Johnjoe, a Scottish ex-pat who will welcome you with a smile, a sectarian song, and a barrage of cherries from across the room.

Fiddler's - South Bend, IN - A plastic-paddy pub in Notre-Dame land that most people don't know about. Food is good, nice screens, and few annoying hipsters/Notre Dame students.

Y Mochyn Du - Cardiff, Wales - Located on the river Taff, this pub is the place I'll be watching most matches. Good kitchen and it has an arrangement with some of the best breweries in Wales (along with Brains). Indoor and outdoor seating with screens in all areas.

St. George - Swansea, Wales - Located in the Uplands section of Swansea, this is where I'll be watching if not at home, Y Mochyn Du, or forced to be at one of the crappier places. By far the best kitchen of the Swansea pubs.

It would be awesome of you to find a place in Montgomery for me to watch. Few people give a shite about it here.

is the only difference between a plastic paddy pub and an authentic one is who owns it?

Kind of. Most are also chains (Fado). Also takes into account who goes, etc. For example, although many Irish ex-pats work at Fado, a visitor to Philly from Ireland would feel much more at home at The Plough. The people who work there should also understand the decorations, etc..

Ex.: There's a picture of MON and Lennon on the wall of a pub in NY. If you ask any of the people who work there who's in the picture/what it's of, they'll give you a blank look.

Ex.2: Any pub called "Kelly's" or the like which don't sell any "Irish" alcohol other than Jameson and Guinness and sell green beer on "Patty's Day".

I'll get my brother who goes to AUM to ask around.

If several places in Auburn are doing big watch parties, then The Gump has to have something.

You would think so, but there's really only 3-4 bars I know of that I would consider watching at in Montgomery. The Tipping Point, Leroy's, Alley Bar, and the Railyard (more of a brewpub). I really would prefer not to go to Alley.
