If you play for Barcelona, or Bayern do you get a break at all? 9 month season, Champions league, international duty, back to preseason.

Most the time you get every other summer off.

Typically, every other summer for a couple of months... Though the Copa kinda screwed that up for the SA players this summer..

Throw AFCON in there as well. Doesn't cut into offseason but it is another obligation.

Depends who you play for.

In Arsenal case they were short on CBS, so after Germany won the world cup mertersacker had to be back in the team asap. Probably with a week off if that.

Alexis Sanchez has only had time off from being injured, probably because he played in 3 straight summer tourneys.

He will be out for a few games only because his ankle was the size of a softball after copa America.

If your club is involved in one of the euro tourneys and advance in domestic tourneys, they are playing over 50 games.

Also some leagues have a winter break. English premier league doesn't.

And on top of all that, you have acon during the European season and you have breaks just for international games during the season. So for some, when the team has the weekend off, they are playing for their country.
