God no league on Earth is more screwed on a constant basis like La Liga. Why would you want to play in that league if it weren't for those two teams?
You stand NO chance. Third place will be well over 20 points out.
And damn they both looked good.

That's why La Liga sucks. They should only get 2 CL spots.

i have to say, it certainly looks that way this year. valencia is down, shocked how bad barca beat villarreal. thought malaga might have a shot at something, but that may take a year or 2.
however, deuce to sevilla would shake things....no, no it wouldn't

There is more parity in the SPL than there is in La Liga.

At least La Liga's two good teams are good.

SPL burn. Nice.
But for serious, Valencia and Sevilla could have pretty good teams, but there isn't the slightest way they can compete in that environment (both financially and as a result talent-wise).
The big boys have been allowed to run amok, but the league seems indifferent. To their credit, they win trophies and bring in money, but this type of system cannot possibly be viable over the super long term, right?

But can they win on a wet day at Fir Park?

every so often there is a bilbao or valencia or atletiscum to shake things up, but not much lately.
watching valencia this weekend...wow, they don't have much to go on.
missed the sevilla v malaga match so can't comment on them yet
as long as the money flows the way it is flowing with tv and shite, barca and rm will be leagues better, esp the way soccer is now a days

Sevilla was solid enough (well at least Negredo was, though he should have scored more than just 2) and Málaga will take a while to get everyone on the same page.
You can't sign 800 new people and expect instant results. Van Nistelrooy was virtually invisible for 90 minutes. It was only after they brought on Nacho Monreal at left back that they seemed to have any spark.
But even if someone occasionally gets a result against RM or FCB, the gap between 2nd and 3rd will be laughable.
The Racing-Valencia game was entertaining in and of itself, but both sides will struggle to avoid 5-0 against the big two.

Look, I like a lot of Real's players and don't follow La Liga at all, however I will not miss a Barca match. They play the most beautiful soccer I have ever seen. Yesterday's match wasn't even fair. Plus Ronaldo is a fig. Sell him and I may not pull against them. I don't consider myself a Barca fan, but I'm a fan of their quality. Oh, and did I mention that fig Ronaldo?
Posted on 8/30/11 at 2:49 pm to Bho
it can be beautiful, i will agree. but sometimes it's just meh and possession for the sake of possession. i just get tired of the douchebags thinking they are the end all be all of football (themselves, not just their fans). plus we have ronaldo and hell i'll even throw in pepe (and di maria a lot). they have dani alves, victor valdes, pinto, biscuits, and pedro. soooo....
but i don't expect to change anyone's mind or dislike of my team. i like it that way
