Obviously I would like to keep Dejagah, but for £5m we would be somewhat silly to not take it especially if Magath lets Stockdale go to Brighton. We will need a keeper as I don't feel Joronen or Bettinelli is a viable first team option yet.

If Dejagah wants to play in that desert hell, more power to him if he can get paid.

Halftime against DC United, winning 2-0 with both goals from Dembele. Can't really tell much about the game from the radio broadcast because the guys calling the game are awful.

First half lineup was:
GK: Joronen
DF: Voser, Burgess, Hutchinson, Stayfalidis
MD (diamond): Hoogland, David, Hyndman, Ryan Williams
ST: Dembele, Rodallega

Game finishes 3-0. Dembele gets the hattrick. In front of an impressive looking crowd. (not my pic)

Glad to see Magath trying out Hoogland in different positions. He is a versatile utility-type player that can play either as a full back or in midfield. If successful, would allow Voser and Stafylidis to be on the pitch at the same time, and I feel those are our best full back options.

Really hoping Hyndman gets some first team appearances, but I also don't want to rush him before he's ready. Magath has been giving him a lot of play this summer.

Well it happened. Stockdale is on his merry way to Brighton and we look closer to losing Dejagah to Qatar. Hope Felix makes a splash with the money before the season.

Thought Stockdale would be the perfect keeper for the Championship, but apparently Felix has other plans.

Fulham 3 DC United 0

I haven't been able to watch all of it yet, but we looked pretty good from what I've seen.

I like the diamond because it allows us to play 2 strikers (McCormack, Roddalega, Woodrow, Dembele, Taggart, etc. is a pretty good group to choose from) without getting overloaded in midfield, and almost mainly because I like the idea of building the team around Chris David. Let him play as the 10 consistently and I think he'll be a breakout player in the Championship.

Plus Staflyidis and Voser are good attacking fullbacks.

If we're going to do that you'd think we'd need at least one more central midfielder (I think Eisfeld is competition/cover for David), but maybe Magath feels like Hyndman and Christensen are ready. Would be good for US Soccer if so.

I assume Parker and Hoogland are the options at the base of the diamond.

I would throw Tunnicliffe in there but I have no idea what's going on with him and Larnell Cole.

Squad numbers released today and Stek, Ruiz and Mitro are there. Probably means nothing, but the fact we still have these three has me a bit weary. We could easily lose all 3, and with Stockdale now gone I'm a bit on edge about the keeper situation.

Stafylidis is supposedly trying to get Mitroglou to stay at the Cottage, but not sure how much sway an on-loan player that just got here will have, even if he is Greek.

Dejagah is now gone, reportedly for £3.5m-£5m. Could buy us some good cover. Best of luck to him, sad to see him go. Enjoy the desert, brah.

Now looks like we are in the running for Ludovic Sané from Bordeaux. Would be a decent depth add at center back.

More on the squad numbers:

Larnell Cole with no number (maybe a loan?), but Emerson Hyndman will wear 28. Great news as it seems he might get some first team minutes.

(I know, they mean nothing. But it's news.)

Dembélé is still a bit raw and needs to get stronger on the ball, but overall I really like the upside. He pairs well with McCormack.

Friendly against Simurq today in Austria was cancelled due to weather. Saturday's match against Rizespor will be the final tuneup before Ipswich.

Season is coming soon, boys. COYW!

Look at that crowd!!! Remember, though, there was a big country concert in conjunction with the match.

Notice, as well, there's no #9 yet, either. Felix isn't done yet!

A bit of depth on the backline as we signed Nikolay Bodurov from Bulgaria. I know nothing about him except that he's a utility guy that can play RB or CB. Good to have depth for such a long, crammed season.

the glut of games is pretty fun, i just think leeds is going to get worse(if thats possible) before they start to improve.

basically dont have a manager, only 2 CBs, still havent replaced ross, have signed just 1 british guy (backup keeper) and like 6 foreigners.

this league is unforgiving as all frick, got to have stability. i think fulham will be ok

Friendly in Austria tomorrow against Rizespor. Very, very curious to see what the squad will look like. I know there's time until the window is closed, and I'm torn as to how I feel about the fact that Stek, Mitro and Ruiz are all still at the club.

My guess is Bettinelli will start in goal.

Been mostly a snooze, but Woody breaks the drought on 87 minutes!

ETA: 1-0 is the full-time score.

See everyone a week from today at Portman Road (in spirit at least)
