I have no idea how this would work, especially with certain clubs who will have the ball around their opponent's box 90% of the match

Screw Fox Sports and their crappy fox sports plus subscription that you have to pay extra for. Man I wish NBC Sports had champions league rights so we could see every game for free.

They should just do what sky does and have a multicast

ESPN did this with the UEFA WCQ's and it was awesome. They just bounced from game to game regardless of where the ball was.

Since I have to work during many CL days, I often prefer to DVR the matches I care about and watch a couple hopefully without knowing the results when I get home.
The new Fox updates constantly flashing under the score combined with the massive ticker scrolling across the bottom of the screen with the final scores on whatever match they aired with a delay makes that so difficult.
I mean, if you're going to delay the broadcast do you really need a gigantic ticker with the final score flashing there every 2 minutes? I seriously cover it up with painter's blue tape on the TV screen.
BeIN et al somehow all manage to show matches on delay without any spoilers.
I'm not sure Fox has ever done a single thing I actually prefer to BeIN, RAI, NBC SKY Italia or any other network on which I've watched football.
That's my I hate Fox rant.

The only thing that the Fox really gets credit for in terms of its broadcasting of soccer is that it was the first to broadcast European soccer live and season long, and by that I mean the Premier League.
It was an important step, but they really haven't improved much since acquiring the rights to the Premier League. The way they cover the Champions League is stale and offensive to more educated soccer fans.
Rob Stone is a decent moderator, but Warren Barton and Eric Wynalda are two of the worst sports personalities on TV. I'm not being hyperbolic either.
